I listened hard but I'm sure Bruce didn't apologise for his part in our f-ck up. Maybe the "nice man" is beyond a little humility.
He talks of ffp as though it has nothing to do with him.
He claims to have nurtured youngsters, yet loaned in onomah and axel (when fit) to hinder their progress.
It's the interview of a man in a no-lose situation

I think he should stay in place purely because we need every bit of stability we can get, things really are that bad.

That video, it's not like those DVDs with the military music of the Lerner early years is it?

Sounds like anything nailed down and worth a bit of money is going to be sold.

As my brother has just put it:

"He has the look of a man who's wife has just left him and she's taking the house"

There speaks a man on a fat cat deal, the excuses already lined up and his media persona intact.
It’s like he is doing us a big favour by staying on.
We should commission a statue In recognition of the great sacrifice he is making on our behalf.

Above all else we need some level of stability & some honesty. Whatever you may think of Bruce, now is not the time to change.

Indeed.

As he keeps saying despite our position we are a big club , he is on a nice salary , looks to have full control of footballing decisions and has a ready made excuse in FFP he has it pretty easy really so why would he leave ..plus who else will employ him ...

face it, until we get a new owner with money, he's not gonna allow anything to get between him and his paycheck

Bruce started the playoff final with £4.05m of his own signings.
Not a great endorsement of Bruce's eye for talent and securing it for Aston Villa. If Axel had been fit it may have been just £3.15m.

So of the playoff final team, 6/11 players Bruce signed and another 2 of the subs who came in were his players in other words.

His inexcusable signing was Hogan, as poorly scouted a player as ever signed for us. Lansbury was a very lazy signing, classic small time Charlie found out within weeks at the club. All the rest verges between very good and ok. Same as many other managers.

The ones he got rid of had all had their chances with us and had flopped badly. It's easily forgotten that the likes of Amavi and Ayew couldn't even make our piss poor team by the time they left. Ayew has gone on and been relegated again. Baker was never good enough or fit enough to build a promotion chasing defence around.

My biggest gripe with him last season was his refusal until late in the season to rotate the team particularly when we were going well. There were home games v the likes of Burton where it would have been ideal to bring the likes of O'Hare in but he didn't bother.

Blame Bruce all you like and i have  but for me there is only one person to blame and that is the owner, even now he appears to be reticent to sell any shares, maybe he only wants Chinese investors. Sell a forty percent stake and it takes the pressure off to sell players on the cheap.

I think he'd get a job quite easily if he left.

I think he would to

But not on the same salary that’s the reason he won’t leave

Stay and fight on.  Hasn't he walked out of virtually all clubs he has managed?  Except as we say when he is earning £3m in the twilight of his management career.

I think we may have to settle for the play offs this season.
