I'm sure that Bruce has been back at his desk for the last few days.  No comments from him, nothing through the Birmingham Clickbait in relation to comments attributed to Bruce.  Why so quiet?
The Birmingham Live site claimed  tonight he was getting frustrated not being able to do any deals. Not half as frustrated as us having to watch early 30’s players labouring through games at a slow pace.

Man who signed old players on season-long loans is annoyed at having to replace them just a season later. Genius.

Bruce is right at the heart of what has gone wrong with the club.  There must be root and branch change.  That is glaringly obvious.

It started going wrong a long time before Bruce turned up.

In the here and now.

One way or another Tony Xia has done his money, however much or little it was to begin with.  Bruce has been a major beneficiary of expenditure being allowed to pay large amounts of money for players.  I cannot believe that Bruce had no part in transfers but even in the remote possibility that he did not, he made pointless the expenditure of over £20 million by not using Hogan effectively and by binning off McCormack to an antipodean bomb squad of one.  That's before the overpriced old sweats purchases.

totally on the money Brian. Tone won't bin him as he can't afford to - only new owners may see a change in team management, depending on their finances

I think everyone needs to take a share of the blame.

What else was he supposed to do with MCormack? Financially he's better of having his contract run down for the purposes of FFP.

Nobody would be willing to take on a huge contract for a 31 year old, over weight waster, who couldn't be arsed at the biggest club in the league, when everybody inside the game knows he likes to drink.

You're partially right - we shouldn't have touched him with a barge pole.

He doesn't need to "do deals"; and, in  any case, FFP will prevent many deals happening anyway. He needs to work with the squad he has and make them a better footballing side than last season.
Aaah; he doesn't do tactics …

… if no one else leaves, we still have the makings of a decent squad but it is going to require a good coach and someone to bring them all together after this fcked-up close-season.

Yep, they’re all culpable. I’d include Round in that as well as he was the major influence in persuading Xia/Wyness to go for Bruce and despite his obvious professionalism, Villa Engine idea and wanting to promote front foot football, his main idea was then to stimy his own idea by recommending Bruce. Something doesn’t add up.
