What did we pay for Hogan? Wasn't it over 10 million?

If so... what a fucking waste of money for such a short, slow player. Whoever thought it was worth spunking eight figures on him needs a good slap.

Just over 9m i believe. I don't recall a queue forming of football manager know it all's saying we shouldn't be signing him at the time mind.

sadly as it turned out the manager who's job it is didn't know any more than the internet nobbo's

I'm pretty sure their were doubters at the time , I had concerns due to to he fee  because he had a history of bad injuries

What if their had been, would that make the slightest bit of difference whatsoever?  It's the manager's job to do his homework on players properly, and with Hogan, Lansbury and Taylor, he made a right pig's ear of it.

When does this queue of managers meet to discuss other managers transfers?.

He's not the first nor will he be the last manager who signs a player that doesn't come off. It's the way it is.

My problem Clampy is that he was brought into a team that he was totally unsuited to playing in.  That's a bit more of an issue than a signing who simply doesn't come off and really shouldn't be the way it is.

He signed a striker that looked the business. Then we didn't seem to know what to do with him.

Shoot him. Must be the first manager to sign a player and then have him flounder.

Hogan was bought in a panic whilst attempting to break into the playoffs. I honestly don't think anymore thought went into it. Wrong player for the wrong team & was never the player we needed.

Lansbury has never been played in his best position, which is where Grealish plays.

Taylor looks like player who is completely lost & a fragile character.

I agree it shouldn't happen but it does. Liverpool gave us £28m for one of our strikers and didn't have a clue how to use him either.

And can we put this bollocks to bed about Bruce spending nothing. If you just look at fees he hasn't spent a lot (you can argue amongst yourselves as to how good those signings were). What he definitely did was add around £15m a year to an already gargantuan wage bill.
