I really enjoyed last season personally. 23 wins and 72 goals wasn't boring.

Because plenty of us have seen us when we did not shit our pants at the prospect of playing Fulham.

That first half will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons.
It was typical Bruce and a demonstration of his limitations and ultimate failure.

I enjoyed us being competitive again. It wasn't always great, we threw in some stinkers and there were games which were frustrating to watch. There were also some good performances. I enjoyed the season as well, even if the end result was a massive disappointment.

If 4th in the Second Division keeps you happy, enjoy.

Doesn't sound like that it what he said to me.  I also enjoyed being competitive in most games compared to what came before.  That does't mean we are happy with the outcome, far from it.

edit - realise you may also have been referring to other posters who did't make that qualification.

The Villa winning makes me happy. I love celebrating our goals and I'll never get tired of it. I say this as perhaps the person who spends the most time, money and mileage on this site watching us.

We're not where I want us to be, but here we are and there's nothing I can do about it. You play the hand you're dealt and enjoy yourself, as it sure beats the alternative.

The players (McCormack excepted) like him and enjoyed playing for him. Maybe him staying would help keep some of our better players from leaving the club.

If we're so fucking boring, how come only two sides outscored us last season ? the two best footballing teams at that.

It's such a load of baloney.

I honestly think some folks have lost all sense of reason.
It seem's logical but look at the team.Bjarnason and Lansbury would be first choices at probably every side below us.Grabban scored 12 in 19 for a relegated side.Hourihan'e's goal ratio at Villa was no better than at Barnsley. As Rudy can't fail pointed out,he scored a hattrick and subsequently ended up playing deeper.Hogan's scoring record is poor at Villa but he scored plenty at Brentford ,add in the ability of Albert and Snoddy and then run out of superlatives when you come to Jack.On the bench you could have some pacy youngsters.
But when you see how we played, the innumberable back passes to the keeper who launched it forward to an isolated small central forward, predictable crosses into the mixer, cautious numbers behind the ball tactics. It was boring.
We got the goals and results because of having some very good players.

Because plenty of us have seen us when we did not shit our pants at the prospect of playing Fulham.

You'd think we'd all been brought up on a Barca style brand of football the way some folks talk. The only easy on the eye seasons we've had have been VERY few and far between in my 36 years attending matches

People have gone daft

So we should just play as we always have and ignore the fact that the game has moved on? That's almost exactly the problem people have with Bruce and we've just seen him fail whilst having the backing and squad to easily make the top 2.

Moved on where ? load of nonsense spouted by folks that should know better.

It's football, the same as it's ever been. People play different styles and with different tactics all around the world, there is no 'right way'

If 'pure football' was the answer how come Fulham finished third and Wolves and Cardiff in the top two ?

Case closed.
