Allegedly we're talking to this fella Stramaccioni. Allegedly.
I hope this is true.  Not that I know anything about the bloke or if he is right for us, but if we are talking to young coaches with a good reputation for bring young players through then we are at least starting to think outside the box.  My greatest fear was to hear we were talking to Moyes etc.
I've just had a look at his managerial record on Wikipedia. Good grief it's shite! He's a former defender too.

sounds like he'll be right up our street then

According to Midlands today they seem to think the club want to give SB another chance.

He was also linked to Leeds today if they sack Heckinbotham.

I remember that Italian guy years ago was a virtual unknown and got the Inter Milan job but he didn't last long there and haven't heard much since.

Went to Greece and Czech rep sacked from both jobs fairly quickly

If Bruce stays then so be it.  The board may feel that given the financial situation and the need for a massive turn over in playing staff in the space of little more than two months then Bruce, as the up-to-speed incumbent is better placed to handle the situation than a newcomer, assuming his head is straight after his recent family bereavements.  But can anyone honestly see that a Bruce-managed Villa team kicking off in August minus Terry, Johnstone, Hutton and Snodgrass (and possibly others) is going to perform better than the side that just failed in the play offs?  I can't.  More of the same, in cash-strapped circumstances, is unlikely to see us succeed.  Bruce may have steadied the ship but we need someone new, with genuinely progressive ideas, to get some wind into our sails.  Football lacking tempo, played on the back foot, and on the break isn't what is needed at Villa any longer.  So if this isn't the right time to make the change, then when is?

That's kind of where I am with the current situation.
I find it difficult to see how Steve Bruce would be willing to continue in these circumstances and the team rebuild that is needed as well as the tight financial situation.

It would surprise me if there wasn't a change.

It might be less of a turnover but more a massive reduction in playing staff with fewer arrivals,so  a manager in situ will be less of an advantage. A new manager might get an extended look at the squad and then have to decide who goes before the transfer window shuts .As you point out,now is the time to make a change.

If he stays, we'll get to Christmas, be about 8th, which isn't really good enough, sack him and be doomed to another fucking season in this league.

Get shot of him now.

Yes.

Can anyone seriously see him still being our Manager in May 2019? If not, then he needs to go pronto.

Bruce has failed twice, continuing down this route is folly.

Unless they are discussing terms for his departure, I suspect he will be here next season now.
Surely if he were going it would have been on Monday or today.
What is the point spinning it out for days or weeks if the board want to change direction?

Silence speaks volumes and I reckon he’s here for a while yet.
