Do we have the money to pay the compensation?

There is logic when You consider.
1. He knows the squad
2. It represents stability.
3.He is backed by Wyness.
4.We are skint so they can avoid compensation for him and the back room staff.
5. FFP means we are not in a position to pay compensation.
6. Attracting a new manager without a Transfer budget will prove extremely difficult particularly when you consider the deadwood that is still lying around and that the loan players will be let go.
I don’t think any one should be surprised if they stick with him.
What a mess.

The best way of spending the last of the parachute payments would be on his compensation.
It doesn’t work like that, sadly.

In an indirect way, yes it does.
You seem to struggle to understand basic accounting.

Go on then, explain it.

You'll have a long wait.
Not as long as your hero getting us promoted though.

How he is my hero?

Although to be honest, it was the childish response i've come to expect so I shouldn't be too surprised.

You can guarantee that if we part ways with Bruce he'll get another job in the championship and take that team up at our expense next season. It's a hard one but I say give him a chance and he's got until October and if we are not in the top 3 change it.

Isn't that just delaying the inevitable? I personally think we're not going up next season with 6 first team players gone from the squad and limited money to replace them, so if he is struggling, we then give another guy a go with Bruce's buys and zero money?

As I said to my mate over the weekend, if we are having to rely on the younger players who are already here, I wonder if they will react to him in a positive way as he hasn’t really trusted them so far?

I do not want to be changing managers mid-season.
At the beginning of this season it was said the side would be a mixture of experience and youth, that turned out to be a downright lie!
Bruce will never change when it comes to the crunch he will go for experience every time and grind/hope to get the right result!

Totally agree, why would Green, Davis or even Bree be willing to bust a gut for Bruce?

It wouldn’t just be changing manager either, it would likely be trying to change the whole approach and style mid season.  If Steve Bruce does stay and then his relieved of his job mid-season, we would have to look at another short term fix type of manager to see us through to the end of season.

If there are any doubts regarding Bruce then it would be best to part company as soon as possible.

You'd hope it would be because their professional careers are at stake.

Agreed, but I think that Bruce has handled Davis badly as he is the only forward who can hold the ball up and bring midfield players into the game and after impressing he was discarded!

To be fair to nann's hair, he was tasked to get us up. Davis came in because of injuries and i'm sure Bruce wouldn't have touched him if he'd had an alternative. If you're trying to get us up you don't stick in youth players who are gonna be all over the place performance-wise. The question now is do we give youth a go and if we do, would Bruce be any good at bringing them on? Personally i don't think so.
