Wyness must come under a lot of scrutiny too as he was the one who signed off high contracts for players over 30, he should be fired for Lansburys contract alone.

Lansbury didnt do anything for me either, he was poor but that's just ridiculous to be honest.
.

Indeed, he’s been poor but at the time we needed midfield reinforcements and Bruce went out and got one of the best in the Championship at that point. He’s never looked fit enough to me so I reckon that is more down player than the manager.

Well said John E.  I'm also tired of all the cod philosophy,   it's a hard league to get out of  etc.  Much of it seems to be recycled opinion picked up from dimwit ex-players now peddling themselves as pundits despite having the critical reasoning, insight and analytical prowess of Robbie Savage.

We've joined the Sheffield clubs, Forest, Leeds, Wolves, Boro, Hull etc in proving how easy it is.

It was said slightly tongue in cheek, but we have a very average midfielder on Premier league wages, ditto for Whelan and Jedinak. The gamble didn't pay off, Wyness must answer some serious questions.

Jedinak has been fine. Whelan and Lansbury didn't work out too well but at the end of the day, they went out and got the players the manager wanted. It's not all down to Wyness.

Some of the players we do have belong in a stable. Donkeys.

Darn! Beaten to the punch.
We are becoming Dunstable.

It's not all down to Wyness, no. But he helped set a strategic direction that involved Bruce and his underwhelming, 'no nonsense' (read: no inspiration) football. If Bruce is a problem, Wyness has a job on to prove that he isn't as well.

Plus Steve Round, and Agnew even - on the playing side.

We practically mirror Leeds thus far following their relegation from the Premier. They were relegated to League 1 the season after losing in the play off final.
That’s the best argument I have seen on here for keeping Bruce here. I know you probably didn’t mean it like that:)

It worries me what direction Wyness and Round will think best suits the club if and when SB goes.

The bottom line is we don't have the money to buy our way out of trouble. We do have a decent, if over bloated squad. We need a manager who can fine tune what we do have as well as spot a gem or two for little money to replace what we are losing.

Does that sound like Steve Bruce, if not, get rid.

I wouldn't underestimate Dr Tony's imput on who should walk through the door should Bruce go.

With all respect to Dr Tone and the money he's spent he doesn't know fuck all about football. He employs someone who supposedly does to help him make those decisions. If he feels he no longer can trust the judgement of that man then he needs to get rid of him and employ another one, not start making the decisions himself. That will only end in a Gianfranco Zola style clusterfuck.

Hence the point I was trying to make. Maybe that needs to be addressed too.
