I hope he does resign, he needs to step down imo. I am not a small bloke myself, but the weight has piled up on the manager. I really respect him as a person, but football management has moved on

If you were an up and coming manager,say Dyche and Howe etc,the top six are not coming for you .They won't look at potential..That leaves Everton ,Newcastle and because of the wealth in London,West Ham and Crystal Palace,as big prospects.Not much choice.And Everton rejected Dyche.How long can the underdogs of Burnley,Bournemouth and Huddersfield survive,let alone prosper,in the top division before bigger resources elsewhere submerge them.And why swop the small club for a slightly bigger one,Leicester ,Brighton,Southampton and Watford whose potential does not match a Villa,Leeds,Sheff Wed or even for the masochistical,Sunderland.
SGT got it right,weighed up the limitations at Watford but despite the sorry mess at Villa,saw the potential.
A wise career move that deservedly got him the England job.
