We've lost 10 games. Last season Newcastle also lost 10, Brighton 9 and Huddesfield 13 (with a minus goal difference). I wonder if any if their fans would have advocated sacking their managers 5 games before the end of the season.

New manager bounce comes from the same place as the curse of Manager of the Month - regression to the mean.

It would be very mean if Bruce didn’t even have playoffs.

Yes but we have more games we might lose and then we might lose in the play offfs and if we go up he might get us relegated. Its unequivocal Bruce out!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but league placings are based on points gleaned, not games lost. As Newcastle and Brighton were 1st and 2nd, 10 points clear of 3rd at this stage last year, I’d be surprised if they were calling for their managers to be sacked.

Games lost aside, there doesn’t appear to be much similarity between our position and theirs.

Newcastle and Brighton were well clear in the automatic spots and Huddersfield were massively above any of their expectations. So I doubt it somehow. If we were doing any of those no one here would be suggesting it either.

Last season Newcastle may have lost 10 and Brighton 9, but they also won 27 and 28 games respectively, something with 5 games remaining we can't do.

’mean’ - love the use of that word!
There are many others one could use.

I'm so glad you're not in any position to influence Xia's decision.

There is no way we should change manager now with a probable play off campaign to come. It isn't like Small Heath taking a last throw of the dice on Redknapp to keep them up in the last few games up a year or so back. He has to be allowed to see the season through and then a quick decision needs to be made to stick or twist based on how our season finishes.

Regardless of promotion or not, I'd see us sticking with Bruce like sticking on 13 with the dealer showing a 10

I know that betting on Black didn't work for us a couple of years ago.

I know, Mister E, and I am trying to be fair.
When the lads are good, they are very good.
It’s just a bit hit and miss. But I think SB and the team will rise to the occasion.
