want to vent at his failure. We should be easily top two.
Can we please not declare failure until he has actually failed to reach his target of Promotion
Automatic promotion is gained by finishing first or second. That was his target and spin it anyway you like but he has failed.

Yep.

It would be wrong to get rid of him now and then make a hasty appointment of possibly the wrong man. So he should carry on until play offs are decided and get rid straight after that regardless of whether we are promoted or not.

That's where I am.

Although, I'd be sounding Terry out about the player's view first. If the captain is concerned, boot him now.

Yep, the only way he should be sacked now is if he's lost the dressing room. Otherwise for better or worse he sees the job through this season.

That is unlikely as for one Terry is his mate and second Terry hasn't got that much vested in Villa. If this was Chelsea then I agree Terry's view would be instrumental.

Exactly this, looking at the performances since the Wolves match, there is something not quite right with the set up.

Probably right. Worth asking the question.

We don't have to appoint a manager full term at this point, just to the end of the season. Any one brought in now can't actually change anything on the non-playing side so its all about whether you think Bruce can get a tune out of these players till the end of the season or not, and whether someone else can.  We now have a situation where if we don't go up we'll have a Bruce side with presumably no Bruce and a major rebuilding effort on our hands. Is that better than starting now with still a chance of getting promoted? On what i've seen in the last month there's no chance of us getting up as the players seem to be reflecting Bruce's "shoulder shrugging"  post match interviews. A major shake-up is needed to dispell the apathy and footballers playing for their futures is one way of doing it

I think that Bruce''s biggest problem this season is that he can't make his mind up the best 11 are and with that in mind we just don't have a coherent structure to the way we play. OK so we have had injuries but then most other clubs have had injuries as well.

I think Tuesday will be revealing.

Y'know you may just be right. To carry on doing the same thing( i.e. same manager cocking up time and again) and to expect a different result is madness. See my comments on the 'Where do you think we will finish?' thread. And until today I was still backing Bruce.

How have Leeds got on with the constant changing of the manager?

How have Chelsea got on?

you pick 1 club where it has worked.

how did we get on 2010 - 2016?  How did Newcastle get on prior to Rafa?  there are many more

so 1 club where it works proves it's the way we should go despite Chelsea being the exception rather than the norm.

Erm, you only picked one example.

Aston Villa, Leeds and Newcastle are not 1 club.  i'm not great at maths but even i know that is 3.

As i said there are many more but i really can't be bothered to list them all.

But as you said if it works for 1 club in the 92 it is clearly the best way to go.

Who out of Lambert, Sherwood, Garde or RDM would you have kept?

In 2 years those 4, plus Black, won 11 league games. I can't believe we sacked any of them.

For f**ks sake, it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were saying how the players were demonstrating a great "team spirit" now, apparently he's lost the dressing room. Can you imagine the laughing stock we would be if we sacked a manager with five games to go. Come on everyone, we can still do this.

I liked Garde, he was shafted from the start. I'd have also left Di Matteo in his post, if I knew Bruce was replacing him!

Agree PWS.  We’re stuck with him until the end of the season now, at which time I think we need to par5 company with him no matter which division will be in next season.
