That's a good point. It does seem to have taken the wind out of him, as is understandable. It gives a dignified exit for both parties.

Where does the ultimatum info come from KG?

Wicked whispers on here. Someone who knows someone etc.

Despite it all, he's always come across as one of the good guys.

I thought that when he was at Man U, despite what he did to us in 1993.  Even felt that way when he was involved with the rabble down the road.

Not my idea of a Villa manager, but that's a different thing.  If we get any inkling at all that he doesn't want to carry on, it would be better for him to go out on a high and make it clear it was his call.  Rather than sacking him after the year he's had.

He’ll leave and the number 26 will be appointed manager and the curse of the former Chelsea player will continue.

there's more chance of Lady Gaga knocking on my front door begging to be serviced than there is of JT becoming manager

What  people fail to note is that Steve Bruce in the 18 months he has been at the club has had to turn the whole mentality around, has  had to recruit probably players given his own ideas he would not have gone for and has had to endure an  awful high expectation.

There is not the calibre of manager around like in the days of Ron Saunders, Shankly, Bertie Mee etc.

Lets not become a Leeds and sack manger after manager just because we cannot reach Mecca in a season.

You won't survive in this thread long with that attitude.

There are only 2 rules to this thread.

1.  We win a game it's all down to Steve Agnew ***
2.  We Lose A Game Steve Bruce is shit it's all down to him.

*** Rule 1 was amended after the appointment of Steve Agnew,  Original rule was We Win a game Bruce got lucky.

But that's just not true. When they have played well, by-&-large the team & the Manager get the credit they deserve. When they put in the kind of gutless, pathetically inadequate display that we've seen of late: they get called out. And rightly so.
I'm as gutted as everyone else when we lose, but so many fans on here reckon that the answer is sacking the manager. It is not.

It is.

It’s easy when you put it like that, isn’t it?

It's staggeringly stupid to suggest he should be sacked if he wins promotion, even via a penalty shootout in the play off final. However 'big' some consider us to be i'd hope we'd have more class than that.
With regards to sacking him in the morning, i can understand that moreso but i'd prefer the stability until the end of the season. If we don't get promoted, this 5 game run has put me firmly back in the 'fire him straight away if we don't go up' camp.

What I know about tactics could be written on the back of a postage stamp, but surely it's obvious that some of the older players need resting now? I don't think JT has been the same since the Wolves game, and the same could be said about several others. The play offs are going to be the three most important matches in Villa's recent history. We need to go into them with our big game players totally rested. The only player who needs game time now is Kodjia, everyone else should be taken out of the firing line, and who knows - some of the reserves might step up to the mark and perform brilliantly. That is what we have a squad for isn't it?

A defeat on Tuesday might be the catalyst.
We would need to create a siege mentality to take us into the play offs.
I bet that a combination of the senior players have more idea of what is wrong and how to fix it than Bruce does.

changes are needed for Tuesday that's for sure - and we need to come out of the traps with a lot more energy than we showed on Saturday.
