It's 5 games you thick twat.

Quote
We were poor, really poor, and we didn't do nearly enough to get anything from the game. There was no zip to our play, the defending for the second two Norwich goals was unbelievably poor and we absolutely got what we deserved, which was nothing.

"The players have let the supporters down - and they have also let themselves and the team down.

"It's really disappointing the way we have fallen away over the past four games, taking just four points. That's not promotion form, or even play-off form. We have failed to perform when we really needed to and handed the momentum to others, which is really disappointing.
He is blaming the players, if only there was someone in charge of training, setting up tactics, picking the team and motivating the players.

Exactly. We've got the best squad of players in this division by a country mile. The manager is the weak link.

We are bad now. When we send the loan players back and lose the parachute payments, how bad will we be then? He’s a dinosaur who has gambled on aged players, isolated the younger players we have.  Crap tactics, lack of pace. We were really bad today.

Good on ya Steve, everyone’s fault but yours. Are you sure it’s not my fault. Grow a pair Steve and take some responsibility

We've managed 14 points from the last 10 games. Still, we're there or thereabouts and it's the Championship.

The "it's everyone else's fault" are the symptoms that serious cracks have appeared in Steve Bruce's mental infrastructure and that he knows the sands of time are very much against him.

The elephant trap our board fell into when they appointed Steve Bruce was the assumption that the elements of sporting excellence are constant.  They are not.  They chose Bruce on his past record.  If the parameters were constant that is okay, but they are not.

Some months ago I tried to use a horse racing analogy to explain why I was worried about Bruce.  Lester Piggott rode the winner of the Epsom Derby 9 times.  He was the unchallenged go to man to ride you a Derby winner.  Despite that glittering accomplishment he rode for 11 years after the last winner but never won the race again.  Part of it is age, part of it is motivation, part of it is the changing circumstances of the sport, part of it is others copying what you do and doing it better.

Like so many times in the last decade those who run the Villa did not give enough serious thought to the future and rolled the dice.  "He has done it before, he will do it again" was their mantra.  Not necessarily somebody should have said.

Neil Warnock has done it before but he might do it again.

You are the manager Bruce - sort it out , its what you are well paid for - the excuses will not wash anymore - 10 defeats this season - that's not good enough

If our players were so bad today, why did Bruce wait until we were 2-0 down before making changes?
Bruce needs to take his fair share of responsibility for today's embarrassment.

I think that as manager SB should take some, if not a lot of responsibility for the poor run of games that has cost us automatic promotion

Whilst the manager will pay the price for his teams failures which is how it is, he has gone from watching his team take the leaders apart to struggling to beat a very shit Norwich side. They couldnt even string 5 yard passes together today. That must be frustrating for whoever the manager is.

Not just today, it’s the last ten games as pointed out on another thread.
I have felt for a while that too many have looked tired and we have a manager that does not know how to keep them fresh.
One of my biggest concerns with Bruce is the lack of time he apparently spends at Bodymore Heath.
