I don't mind Warnock, can understand why upsets people but he's more entertaining than the media trained puppets that trot out the usual bland clichés for the press. I loved that when he was Leeds manager he recorded a video of his favourite memory of his time in football was when Jagielka scored a last minute winner for Sheffield United against Leeds, he had a knowing look on his face and knew how it would upset certain people.

Wouldn't want to watch his teams week in week out but then again there aren't many teams I'd want to watch week in week out.

I quite like him. I wouldn’t want to watch his football on a regular basis either, but there’s a kind purity to his ugliness.

Warnock had QPR playing some great stuff the season he took them up and had a good go at keeping them up. You won't find many QPR fans that have a bad word to say about him.

I think he is still popular with Palace fans too isn't he? I would also guess that he is a Notts County legend.

I thought I heard him say the other week that he didn't want to manager in the PL anymore, so if Cardiff do go up he could well leave.

Warnock and cardiff are the perfect fit for me, but i think Bruce could have probably done it there as well.

I very much doubt it. Warnock knows exactly what he's doing. He knows it may be ugly, rough and route 1 but he's fully aware of the limitations he has, plays to their strengths and knows how best to punish the opposition. I've never had that impression with Bruce. Typical Bruce was seen again on Saturday, playing a player out of position whilst he has two players on the bench that normally play in that position. He's his own worst enemy.

I don't know. Its like chalk and cheese, us and Cardiff. Warnock came there and even if he wanted to become Guardiola the finances wouldn't let him, so he's built a team in his image and lets face it he hasn't had to convert a lot of "footballers" to hoof ball. Bruce on the other hand inherited a squad full of well paid players who sort of should be able to play football even if there wasn't much recent evidence of it. Like i said in my original post, Bruce did well at clubs like blose, wigan and Hull because like Warnock he could build a squad in his own image without those pesky players like grealish who need the ball to do anything, and without anyone caring if they're awful to watch. Here he's fallen between two stalls.

I think that is pretty much spot on.

He might be exactly what we need, a 1 year contract beckons.

Warnock has a way of playing based on the resources he has available to him and he sticks to it. Bruce flip flops all over the place and it's in large part why we have these streaks. He happens upon something that works and we get a good run of results. Then the moment it doesn't instead of sticking to it and riding it out he'll try a number of different things, some utterly bizarre before stumbling upon in some cases something else that works and off we go again. I just hope he finds something else between now and the playoffs and gets us up. Because scoring once in 3 games against the giants of the game; QPR, Bolton and Hull doesn't bode well.

He signed a two year contract extension last month, so he clearly does fancy managing in the Premier League again.  At the time he signed he said:

"I feel with Cardiff there would be greater support, were we to go up, and that is part of my thinking over the new deal. You can succeed in the Premier League. Just look at what Sean Dyche has done with Burnley. He's kept things simple and got the very best out of the players available to him. That approach can work, you know."

Thirded!

He's got a pretty wide range of skilful players available to him but doesn't seem to have the first idea of how to play them in the same team for maximum effect.

I think then he has changed his mind, perhaps seeing what Dyche has done and the board talking him around, he obviously thinks he can do the same as Dyche!
Warnock's approach may initially surprise teams in the PL but will ultimately end in disaster as class rises to the top.

It's a sad day if we are looking  with longing eyes at Neil Warnock.

So what are the other options?
If we need a pragmatic soloution to get us up with fewer resources, who is a better bet?
We would all like someone to come in and rebuild the cllub, create an attractive playing style with youth development at its core and deliver the promised land.

Not so long ago there were a few who advocated Pulis or Allardyce.
