No point worrying about it until we actually get there Brian. As it stands, we seem a long way off.

You real a patronising (blank) aren't you?

Hogan was bought because he scored a lot of goals and had a great strike rate, pretty much what any team needing a striker will look for. Just because he's not working particularly well in our system doesn't make him shit.

Why are you white knighting again and why is pointing out that comparing Hogan to Messi is absurd patronising?

I didn't say he was shit (but you've got form for reacting to things without reading them properly) I said he's a terrible footballer, and explained why.  I also said he's an effective striker in a very specific team setup but you couldn't get all offended on behalf of other people if you actually paid attention.  Oh and for the record this is intentionally patronising because the last time you did this it got dull quickly so I'm cutting straight to the end.

What's the difference between being shit and being a terrible footballer?

It's not the comparison you made, merely your delivery. Apologies for name-calling.

I didn't find that post patronising, but thanks anyway.

Lastly, I'm not 'white-knighting' just calling it as I see it. Clearly though, I was wrong, you weren't patronising anyone, I'm just too thick to understand what you meant, seems to happen a lot, and not just with me. Sorry again for not being bright enough.

What is ‘white-knighting’, it sounds like a drink or some sort of sex act.

It involves inserting a specific chess piece somewhere. So i've heard.

It means putting yourself into a discussion to defend someone who doesn't need help.

I'm not sure what makes me feel more flattered - that paul_e thinks I can look after myself or that Drummond is willing to white knight me, which I think involves dressing up as the really badass section of the KKK for some strange reason.

I once asked Drummond to White Knight me. Imagine my surprise when I found out he was Mike Jefferies.

You are all wrong. White Knighting involves Colombian marching powder, members of the Upper House of Parliament of HMG, auto erotic asphyxiation and citrus fruits. Hang them high says I.

Isn't it a cider that students used to drink on a saturday night before going to The Hummingbird?

Nah, you’re thinking of something associated with Hoddle and Waddle and 1980’s haircuts.

I was white nighting last night.  Rounding up my animals in a blizzard straight out of Moscow tram depot.  Came in, put on my white nightie and went straight to bed.

Shirley that constitutes white nightie-ing Bri? Not that I'm one for wanton pedantry...
