Crap game and we were fortunate to score in the last minute and even then we were holding on at the end.

Bruce Out!

I like the poll, we should keep it into next season as well.

It’s a great poll. I’ve changed my vote at least three times.

Well it’s all fine now and  he has till the end of season anyway now. If we don’t go up he should go.

What if we finish 3rd by goal difference and then lose the play off final on penalties after drawing 4-4 in playing time?
Sack him. Being in play offs is a failure in itself.

Suggestions for new options? Or just lock it for now.

People could always just post on the "Steve Bruce" thread, rather than the"Steve Bruce Out" thread.

And this one would probably just drift down the pages until such a time that it becomes relevant again.

I haven't changed my view at all sadly. The best that will be said for him come May is he will have achieved what he was brought in for a season late - ie, promotion. While i "got" that viewpoint from those that wanted him at the time, my reservations are still there which is mainly he hasn't actually built a team or anything long term which hints at PL survival if we get up.  Well a 12 month championship vacation  getting pummelled in the premiership isn't really my idea of fun. We have a team made up from loan's, players leaving in May and players that don't look anywhere near the required standard. I'd say 8 first team players minimum would be required in the summer to make a decent go of it, and that's not including reserves. That would be a bare minimum of 40m spent which i can't see us doing, and relying on them all being a success. I guess some will be quite happy if we get up and then can sack him in November if he's struggling but i'd like the new manager to at least have a 50-50 chance of keeping us up frankly

On the flipside he can point to finding a top keeper, Grealish's progression and particularly turning around a shithouse dressing room. All while his top forward has been out injured pretty much all season.

My fear for Bruce would be if he was given a decent budget, that he would spunk it away on random players like what he did at Sunderland and arguably last January. This season when he has been forced to wheel and deal a bit, his business has been a lot better.

Well he's not our 'keeper is he? Nothing stopping any club buying him in the summer if they outbid us. I think Bruce must be given major credit for turning the team around especially with the losing mentally that was deeply embedded throughout the whole club and yes shifting the poison from the dressing room given some of them he can't get rid off. That said ,come May i still won't have a clue what the plan is for aston villa and you look at our squad, with our best defender possibly leaving, maybe the keeper, maybe snodgrass. jedinak, whelan the wrong side of 30. Scary how much work is need,

I think you're dramatically over estimating the quality of the bottom half of the Premier League.

I'd say we were on a par with anything down to about 13th in the premiership, and any one of them could go down this season quite easily.

The bottom third/half of the premiership has been shit for years and for a number of years, we were the shittest (or very close to being so). Without some radical changes, I can't see it being much different if Bruce gets us up this season.

Both Newcastle and Brighton are not in the bottom 3 and even last season we looked ok with them in the head to head clashes.

Well i don't think one point makes much difference. Newcastle and brighton are in the thick of the relegation battle - The question is are we going to be any better if we get back up?

well yeah and that's my point. I was a hell of a lot happier with our last promotion side under SGT. We had a spine and players like platt and even they struggled back in the top division. This time most of our best players aren't even ours or maybe saying goodbye in May like Terry. Whatever way you look at it, if we do go up it's gonna take a massive turnover of players
