So our chance is as good as the other top six except Wolves. I see.

Yes, indeed it is.  What of it?

Steve Bruce.

What?

What, what.

Bruce.

He's not fit for purpose.

I'm looking forward to this weekends game against Forest.
Apart from the possibility of training ground injuries all of the guys who were deemed too important for Peterborough will return to the team. Bar maybe 2 exceptions according to Bruce all of the others have either played themselves out of the reckoning or are too young to take on such a task of playing in this game. Did he say something post match about the kids being in with the big boys now?

We'll be playing a Forest side who made minimal changes today and managed to beat Arsenal who went down our route and rested the first team. Losing a centre half to a red card today helps us as well if he's suspended. So fitness and recovery wise we are well ahead of them.

I desperately hope that we put on a performance on Saturday and it works out for him.
He doesn't really have anywhere to go this time if it ends in defeat.

Ah right you are.  If he gets us promoted it’s job done.   If he doesn’t it’s failure.

Bruce is a bog standard British manager who has been been good at getting other teams promoted.  As it stands we have a good chance.  If he fails he will be sacked. If he succeeds he will no doubt be replaced.

What purpose is that?

It usually means the purpose for which he is being paid.

Promotion?

That plus leading the way in the Villa ethos. That is all Villa teams playing the same way as the first team. Heaven forbid that would happen.

Entertainment and the purpose of getting our club promoted.

We'll see of course.  Win, win, win, draw, win, loss loss, draw, win, loss, loss, loss and win.
We have the players to top this league.

Heaven forbid we be there or there abouts.  WTF is our ‘ethos’ by the way?  I’ve been going since the early 80s and seen a mixture of styles, players and managers.

Clubs who talk about a 'Way' tend to be the ones who massively underachieve. Spurs, Stripeys, Everton come to mind.

It is something that the CEO wants to operate throughout the club. ‘Ethos’, ‘the Villa way’, call it what you will.
One thing it isn’t is something that has been going for many years. This is a recent initiative.

West Ham

They won the World Cup, survived the Blitz and loved the Queen Mum, Gawd bless 'er. They're exempt.
