I never thought I would live to see the day when so many Villa fans would be ambivalent about us going out of the FA cup at home to a club we have always considered beneath us.  If we finish out of the play off positions today will be just another of the hundreds of stupid, unnecessary rolls of the dice made by our last six managers and three owners.  This is not the Aston Villa I grew up with.
I'm with you.
What a shambles.
If Bruce doesn’t do coaching or tactics or nutrition – because he is, by his own admission, a motivator – who should carry the can for a team lacking dynamism, energy, guile, commitment and pride?
And, many of the players still cannot pass to their team-mates: Onomah is the prime culprit; but Hourihane really is an empty vessel, Bjarnasson is a waste of space, Taylor needs putting out of his misery ... and the almost-total absence of movement off the ball is as embarrassing as it is frustrating.

I think it's totally legit to ask: "what the hell do they do in training?"!

Good to see you mentioned his name at least.

If he goes now, we'll get Hughes... Horrible

We need Bruce to go Stoke and we get the Brentford bloke in.

For me it is very simple.  I hate to see Aston Villa lose.  The circumstances are immaterial.  You play every game to win or you don't take part.  It is how I feel.  I do not want to change.  I do not intend to change.  You can't be a bit pregnant.  You can't be a football fan who accepts defeat coolly and rationally.
I also felt bad at 4.50pm today, no Villa fan would think otherwise. However I also appreciate that Bruce picked a team that many on here thought would stroll out and walk all over the opposition because they were desperate to get into the first eleven. I'm sure Bruce thought the same, there is no way he was throwing in the towel.

Had Beorn hits the back of the net rather than the bar, then we maybe looking at a 4th round draw, but he didn't. If we beat Forest with a rested Chester, Snodgrass, Adohma then I won't be complaining, and I certainly won't be calling for the manager's head.

Would Hughes be so bad? I thought he undid a lot of Pulis's hoof ball at Stoke and modernised them a bit? I confess I havent watched them so I dont know.

Steve Round has already recommended his best mate Schteve Mack for the role.  Hughes every day of the week over that cretin.

I'm not a fan of it but lots of teams do it these days. The idea is you actually break quicker. Think Luna goal at Arsenal.

Yep, it's also apparently easier for a player to run on to a clearance than it is for one to win the ball, on his own, with his back to goal.

One team today when defending corners had 2 left up top, one team took the cowards approach of dragging back all 11...absolutely no plan to counter.

I'm not in any way comparing Bruce to Guardiola but next time Man City are defending a corner have a look and see how many they have in and around their box.

If we had players with the quality of De Bruyne, Aguero, Jesus, Stirling, Sane, etc then yes it might be a good idea.

Plenty of sides do it without that quality of players. We did it with Weimann and Luna.
