Sherwood’s biggest failing was Sherwood.

Without a doubt. If he had just understood humility and how fortunate he was to be where he was he could have in time become a decent manager. But it was all about him and when things began to turn on him he blamed everything and everyone else.

Is, was, always will be. He must have a lot of mirrors.

I like him.  He has two first names for a second name.

It hadn't occured to me before, but I too like him as a result.
And it rhymes with condom, I want to be his best friend.

Strachan would be an alternative. Just watching him speak on the debate on sky sports he talks along with Andy Townsend and Craig Bellamy about football directors how they pick the players and manager coaches get on with it.

Bruce is too old ways and new ways especially with the villa engine and moving forward a manager with decent ambition. Strachan would give more dynamics to the team and add the passion however much one agrees or derides my suggestion the fact is not amazing amount or quality to choose from
Strachan also mentions how, and I heard David Mills say this too, there is little time for coaching in the championship during the season. Which is very very interesting. He says essentially players get on with things. No wondered they don't look coached! Or organised and he relies on old heads!

I think it was Bruce last throw bringing in stevie agwho!? Losing next 4 matches not including the cup and I think needs replacing. Very frustrated by him and his management team. I don't see a consistency or team coming and worst is way he speaks after matches yet he is one of sole reasons why haven't made any improvements.

Other mentions would also suggest Monk or even Clement either these managers are up and coming can be left to coaching and are far more in touch with championship football and passing the ball.

Ideally wish and hope Bruce improves the play and results and somehow make the playoff final lotteries. There is make or break. For consistency would like him to turn  around but I'm at this moment having seen what seen under bruce that he isn't taking villa up and like it's been mentioned we are slipping down league.

Realistically next 2 are difficult wins though I have annoying hope every match which frustrates. Bruce talks a good game before and after however washed up maybe to harsh but certainly not suited for where the villa want to be. We all know it's slight envious to have seen Newcastle and now wolves take this league when villa were expected with ambition of own. That said we all know who are bottom!

Finally thoughts are that Bruce has to adapt and change things and get best out of players like Hourihane  Grealish and not relie over heavily on Whelan and jedinak  as flair and creative taking game to opposition what's needed. I also like him to play 2 up front.

I am hoping there is a Mario Strachan a relatively unknown master tactician getting sesults in Serie B ready to burst onto the international scene.

Respect your right to a view footy but I think the last thing we want is a volatile bad tempered manager.  We have had a few of those and look where it has got us.  Modern football requires managers and coaches with high levels of intelligence and player communication skills.  The run-through-brick-walls-for-the-shirt approach to management is as dead as a dodo.  We need a manager who picks the opposition apart with ruthless surgical efficiency like we have had done to us so many, many times since the arrival of Alex McLeish.

Neil Warnock has Cardiff well placed, Pullis and Allardyce are both back in work. Talk of the demise of that style of manager might be a little premature.

When we were stinking out the Premier League there were plenty of people on here saying how competitive the Championship was, now we're in it and doing our best to stink this league out as well all of a sudden it isn't that good and we should be running away with it. The standard is poor but Villa have been poor for years now so don't see why we should be "pissing it".

Pissing it maybe a bit strong but the turnaround Wolves have managed and the speed shows it's possible
With the amount of money we've spent since being  relegated we should absolutely expect to be top six minimum. The fact that so much money has been spent to look pedestrian and bang average speaks volumes for the management team of bruce and co and they alone should pay the price. I have zero sympathy for them as they have been paid handsomely for the privilege of being at our club. Dr Tony has been shortchanged. If it we're my money I'd be fuming with those guys. The good Dr is in dire need of some inspirational advice.

He is now. He was a decent player before spending 3 years being Pulised.

I had the misfortune of being at the Hawthorns on Boxing Day - there is nothing remotely resembling a decent player there. Every Olbiyun fan around was absolutely slating him.

He scored goals in the champions league for Zenit and has scored in the Copa America for Venezuela. First season at WBA he scored 9 league goals in 27 games.

When you think we came up with Gestede to replace Benteke it really boggles the mind. Should've just paid Adebayor whatever he'd wanted as I imagine Sherwood would've got a tune out of him for a few months and then signed better in that January.

That move didn't fall down on wages, apparently.  It was all agreed, think Adebayor had even gone as far as posing in the kit after the medical. But he then consulted his witch doctor, and that was that.

I'm sure he thinks he had a lucky escape.  But looking at his subsequent form for Crystal Palarse, so did we.

86% out should mean out.   Don’t wait for a replacement, sack him now.  I’m sure Terry or indeed Tea Lady could improve our tactics in the interim.

I'm sure he thinks he had a lucky escape.  But looking at his subsequent form for Crystal Palarse, so did we.

I don't think it was someone as bizarre as a Witch Doctor, I think it was his Pastor who he spoke to for guidance. I'm not sure he's played since so I think he did us a favour.
