Let's be honest though. Not too many people had a problem with Jedinak playing there before yesterday. I'm sure there were some who prefered him over Samba. I
Not me. I always said he was too slow and a pacy striker would would out do him. I was wrong. Turns out a journey man like Clayton Donaldson was all it took to prove the point.

I am undecided what realistically to hope the year ahead brings.  To hope for automatic promotion is to buy into hope that will virtually certainly be dashed. The play offs look a possibility but our form against higher placed teams does not inspire confidence.  Because I must keep myself in good heart to keep coming back for more I am pinning my hopes on this season being the major wake up call the club must get so that next season becomes the fresh start and clean slate we desperately need.

Yes I didn’t  as I thought he was very good at centre back towards the end of last season.

Was that cut and pasted from last year, Brian?

We are exactly half way through the season. If we repeat  our form of first half of season we 'll have won twenty, drawn sixteen and lost ten. Doesn't sound too bad does it but the number of draws would probably be what holds us back. The injuries at the back and to Kodjia are crucial and Mr Bruce doesn't seem to have much imagination in how his team plays. I can honestly see us top eight but no better as we cannot beat any one who looks the slightest bit decent.

We would qualify for play offs with 76 points. Stand to be corrected but I'd be hugely surprised if a team has ever missed out with that points tally.

I still think we'll make the play offs but I just wouldn't fancy us in that.

All the pressure would be on us to win them given what is at stake so we'd be playing teams like Cardiff and Bristol City who would be underdogs over two legs.

Get to the final and we'd have all the pressure of the 200m game. Not the same as FA cup final in terms of prestige but it's still a massive final at Wembley and we haven't exactly got a stellar record of turning up in those games since the 90s.

I wanted top 2 this season. I thought given the time SB had it was a realistic ambition for this season. We started the season slowly again and so we are pretty much 10 points behind second which isn't good enough at the halfway point.

With the right approach from the beginning, we would of been. I think a lot of the frustration from us fans, in the belief that we all know we have the squad and individual players to have strolled this. The money invested by the manager on some decent players, and then use them in a role that they are alien to, is a sign of a man whom has lost any grip on reality.

Steve, these players have only been under performing since YOU bought them!

Looks like Pulis will be named Boro manager before they play us.

I'll get 20 quid on a 0-0 draw then right away.

I have some Boro following friends. I genuinely feel bad for them having Pulis shiteball inflicted on them.

I was at Preston. We were terrible that day. Performances were generally getting worse under RDM. Very lucky to get a point at Ipswich and also really poor for an hour v Newcastle.

It was the right decision to let him go, he didn't have the urgency to turn around the club.

Well i remember that game and yes it was bad, but in the context of what RDM was facing in hindsight we pulled the trigger too early. RDM was given basically 2 months if that, and he was taking.on as i say an awful awful squad, not enough time to do anything really - he wasn't even given the time for his signings like Kodjia to bed in. Just look at those players in our relegation season and only Hutton still figures regularly, so basically a total rebuild. At the time the general opinion was we didn't have to make many changes to have a competitive side and that has since proven totally wrong. If we'd known that at the time, and realised promotion was a long shot, he may have got a bit more patience

Nightmare Stripey scenario. We appoint Pulis, they go down, we go up.

It’s a nightmare for us too, as we have to watch Pulisball.
