But I still can’t see the point in getting rid of Bruce now. I just can’t see who the candidate is who’s likely to have a better chance of getting us up this season

Me neither but we're going nowhere with Bruce and another season in this division will be financially ruinous.

Why don't we start using our size and profile for good and go and pick up the Bristol City gaffer? Whilst signing Nathan Baker raises questions about his judgement, what he's done with their side is borderline miraculous.

And Baker has been one of their best performers!

lol! as if he'd move to us. nope, we'd be looking at a guy without a job currently which is why its better to wait to the summer for someone to do the job permanently. Thay doesn't mean keep Bruce though.

Why wouldn't he?

Bristol are punching way above their weight and aren't going to go up. While his stocks high he could get a move to a massive club like Villa, still in contention for the playoffs and with the best squad in the league. He'd be fucking mad not to.

They have drugs to dampen this kind of delusion.

Do you really think he’d leave them for us as we are now? He’s just got to sit tight for 6 months doing what he’s doing. Even if they don’t go up his stock will be high. Why would he come to us, the managerial career killers?

that's the whole point, they are punching above their weight. If they don't go up he's not going to be sacked  or get anything other than credit for what he's done and probably get a better job in the summer if he wants. And if they do go up he'll be able to probably get a gig at a lower premiership club if he wants. Here, he walks into a team not performing, with no money, and a load of bruce type players he can't rely on with the expectations of going up. No brainer, you'd sit tight.

lets face we haven't acted like a big club in years. once we nicked managers like SGT of Div1 sides to get us promoted. While the likes of Everton get fat sam to get them out of the shit, we employed Remi Garde!  I don't think he'd come to us at the moment because i'd say Bristol C have a better chance of going up than us. They obviously play for their manager, while our lot..........haven't really played for anyone since they've been here.

Great post hitting the nail right on the head. I’ve said it a few times on here that the longer Bruce is here the longer it will be to recover from him. Today I thought only Grealish looked anything like premiership class. The rest looked either worn down by the type of football they’re expected to play or just not good enough. That’s shocking given the money spent.

Bruce has been pathetic other than the odd spurt that has defied the stats. The football is woeful and the results aren’t much better. Being lucky to get a 0-0 at home to Millwall at home sums it all up. If we are spawny enough to get into the playoffs we have no chance in a 2 leg dog fight.

The irony being that many of the players we've brought in were high-performers in their previous club. The current manager has denuded them of their specialism ...
