The players are there to cope with injuries. He just won't change his tactics to accommodate them. Other managers will change things, Bruce just shoehorns the players into the only system he knows how to play

He’s set us up to be ridiculously vulnerable to those injuries so fuck him. 2 strikers on the bench, one of which he bought and one he failed to get rid of when he was begging for it. Neither of them could get in the team ahead of a non goalscoring midfielder.

I directed a large expletive at Whelan when the first goal was scored but I then remembered how passing back to the keeper is the norm with Bruce.
Bad pass, but under the manager's orders.

Bruce out.

Agree.  We surrender ball possession for a 50% chance of ball possession.  Considerably less when we do not have a target for goal keeper's kicks.  Bruce does not get it.  Or much else.

Bruce does not get it.  Or much else.

Somebody needs to nominate him for an Ice Bucket Challenge in a desperate hope that he bloody wakes up. He really needs to shit or get off the pot. I'm still willing to give him until the end of the month but that was on condition we were no more than 5 points behind 2nd place. If we were playing well but dropping points I think I'd be more patient but that's not the case. He needs to start making changes whether it be bringing through a few kids and/or changing his tactics but the biggest and most important change he needs is inside his bloody head.

Leeds and Sheffield United were above us. We were above Bristol and Derby. It will fluctuate.

Who cares about any of those teams though? I wrote about the gap between us and the top 2 not about which other teams aren't good enough to be there.

Sheffield United were second. Now they're not. Cardiff are second and perhaps they'll stay there. Who knows. Let's play the rest of the season and find out.

Dinosaur. Can't change, won't change. I don't care what he's done before, I think he's lucky.

The hardest bit about suffering a defeat like today under Bruce, is that we never throw caution to the wind and just go all out at teams.
If we lose when trying to win, so be it, but we lose while trying not to lose.
Plus this comes after a poor display against Millwall, where we again just played not to lose.
At some point you have to go out with the intention of getting the 3 points.

Look at the two teams who went up last season. Newcastle, bizarrely, had one of the world's best managers and are inherently able to come down to this level and win a dick-swinging competition. They did and they went up. Brighton had been nearly-men for years, they employed a Proper Football Man who was able to diligently bore them up the league and they made it after several seasons of shortfalls. We're supposed to be dick-swingers and we went for the PFM.

Wow 1 defeat and the haters get all happy don't they, for me I hope we beat Sheffield United and ruin all your Christmas's.

Yeah the formation was strange today, but was Whelan making a ridiculous error down to Bruce?? Had he not done that then it was a different game.

Enjoy this 7 days hopefully we'll beat Sheffield United and you'll be crying into you Christmas dinners

I've had this debate on another forum but everytime I read something like that from SB I do wonder how much work we do on the training pitch.

If we were training on a possession game you'd see the results on a Saturday after a period of time.

What I imagine we're doing is plenty of running and then shape and set piece work. Stuff Pulis and Big Sam do.

Do we even do double sessions or do the players all clock off still at 1pm? Y'know these pesky double sessions likes of Pochettino and Marco Silva do, their sides seem to improve significantly over time.

How very patronizing. Losing one game makes me a hater? So be it. The tactics, quality of football, decision-making, lack of in game management is crap. That's why I'm a hater. And it's not just one game.

Indeed. It's 'Christmases', FFS.
