You can cut out the "better fan than you" routine.

he probably is a better fan than me mind

I’m such a hypocrite i celebrated every goal under Mcliesh and I didnt want that numty either

John’s a better fan than me, so I’m feeling pretty shit about myself right now. And he was right about Gabby, eventually.

I haven't said I'm a better fan, and I wouldn't ever say that, all I'm saying is I'm shocked and find it embarrassing that someone who supports a club wouldn't want a manager because they don't like the way he gets success.

if we won the next game 7:0 you'd be moaning that if it wasn't for Bruce it would have been 8.  Just when I think it can't get more bizarre you post something like that.

What an incredible  statement and comparing 1982 win to current style of football I would say that word bizarre is totally you.

Yeah but we didn't won the European Cup playing total football so it wasn't won the correct way for some.

Personally I don't care how we gain promotion whether it be total football or boring 1:0 every game

It bloody was total football. And as for your earlier comment about a 'shinned finish' you can go bollocks; I'll have you know that was the most sublime finish I've ever seen. Couldn't name a better goal than that one.

Indeed. If forced to pick one at gunpoint though I’d grudgingly say Dalian’s.

I'm not complaining I think it's a great goal so I'm with you on that any goal that wins us a trophy is an awesome goal even if it comes off someones arse. It just seems that are some people here that will find something to moan about regardless of how well we are doing

That's interesting, just how well (with the resources that we have) do you think we are doing? If you were a teacher and had to write a Steve Bruce school report now, what would you write?

For the umpteenth time, just because you don't understand doesn't mean people are finding "something to moan about regardless".

I can't believe that with the Villa sitting lower down the league than the not-so-mighty Wolves, Cardiff, Bristol City and Sheffield United anyone thinks we're actually doing well.  But there we go, this is a place for opinions and thankfully they're not all the same.

But, playing devil's advocate here, couldn't it be said that you are doing exactly the same in that, despite us doing quite well at the moment, you too have found yourself something "to moan about" - ie other people not being as enthusiastic as yourself?

Personally, I think we should all stop moaning about the football being shit / Bruce not being the man to cement our premier league position when we return there / us not being top of the league and ten points clear / other people not being happy enough, and focus on this season being considerably less shit than the previous seven, but I understand why others might not agree.

EDIT: Oh no, now I'm moaning too.

The worry about Bruce not being able to keep us in the Premier League isn't something we need to worry ourselves with at the moment,  that is a concern for when / if we get there.  It's like saying the players we have now won't survive in the Premier League,  Both complaints aren't relevant until we actually get there.

My Bruce report is that for as long as we are in promotion contention he is doing exactly what he is here to do.

So Stuart445 you are happy as long as we are in promotion contention? As long as we have a chance of the play offs Steve Bruce is doing his job and beyond reproach?

To answer his question, we are also as it stands in with a chance of automatic promotion.

Diablo as Clampy said i used the word Promotion not play offs, but doesn't matter if we go up via automatic or play offs they both have the same result

We is where we is. Our only option is to see the season out. Bruce will either succeed or fail. There’s no point in debating any other option now.
