The form table for the last 6 games shows Cardiff above us.

We need them this start falling away because, it looks now, as though we are not going to overtake Wolves.

Not sure why people don't accept and respect the fact that not everybody thinks or feels the same way about our current manager especially as this is a forum (for like minded and not so like minded people). Brothers and sisters I propose an afternoon sing along or two

Timmy Thomas - what a top guy - Me and VCTM jnr spent a week in Memphis and Muscle Shoals- Timmy stayed at the same hotel as us , joined us for breakfast each day, accompanied us to Stax, Royal, Fame and Muscles Shoals studios and joined us each night in a night club we hired. - He performed why cant we live together for us !!!
This was at the time Drake had sampled the track for "Cellphone" Time of our lives !!!

Wow!! That is crazy!! Great to hear he was such a nice guy too (I hope he got some money from Cellphone being a hit as it's not always/often the case). Is the original Stax studio still there? Or is it a school or museum now?

The original Stax studio (formerly a cinema) was levelled back in the day when STAX went bust but has been lovingly recreated as a museum and Stax academy for young artists - some of the guys came to the UK earlier this year to perform at a few venues .
I was hauled up on stage to perform a duet with an Aretha Franklin look/sound alike - singing "Uptown Funk" - VCTM jnr was not impressed
We later met with Boo Mitchell who produced that particular track at his studios -

I thought I'd read/seen that there was a Stax academy. Superb stuff! Are you a musician/involved in music Villa 'cross the Mersey or just a big fan? And is there a video of your Uptown Funk rendition on the interweb?

I`m no musician - just an old Soul Boy living out his dreams  - getting to talk to guys like Eddie Floyd, William Bell, Timmy Thomas, Boo Mitchell, Howard Grimes, Jimmy Johnson, James Alexander and Al Bell like they were old buddies was unreal  -
Timmy and James both made a massive fuss of my son who was 15 at the time - its made him really appreciate the music and the people.

Thankfully there is  no recording of my efforts at the Academy - however Al Bell was in the audience and I await his call for me to sing with Leela James

Haha! Fantastic! That's some line up (I admit I had to name check Howard Grimes - I feel slightly better in the knowledge that drummers rarely get the recognition they deserve ;-) ). What a holiday/adventure - that has brightened my afternoon up. Glad I posted those videos now. A Villa win tonight would round things off and set the weekend up perfectly.

last season RDM and Bruce reached special heights of shitness but that's gone now we can forget about it

this season Bruce is doing exactly the job he was bought in to do, he is performing exactly to the very letter how i thought he would when we appointed him

the last game i went to was Sunderland at home, we won and it was a supreme example of a Bruce performance, i know we have played better but in general it was fairy typical, it was a perfect example of how Bruce gets teams up out of this league and the reason i never wanted him

i dont believe in the 'lets get up and then plan' theory or the '3 seperate teams' bullshit,
but i do believe that Bruce can get us up and even if i hate the way he's doing it with zero thought for the future or anything built to last when we do go up i have to accept we have got to get out of this league,

i don't agree its the only way to do it, the 'i dont care how bad it is as long as we go up' stuff is really the most pathetic nonsense i read on here, and i dont believe Bruce is anywhere near good enough for us long term

he might be the promotion specialist but he's also pretty damn good at relegations as well, and if we do manage to go up by stealth it would be very harsh to get rid of him and i don't think we would, but that's if we do go up so i suppose we can cross that bridge when it comes

we have seen a few old school British managers get jobs recently, Pardew, Moyes, Allardyce they might all do 'a job' for the clubs does'nt mean they are the right man or the fans will ever want them,
media lovies just like Bruce pundits who never say anything negative about them but keep swallowing the rubbish served up week by week

i don't post much on here for obvious reasons, its pointless banging on about 'Bruce out' when you lie 4th in the league and i never have called for 'Bruce out' because i never wanted him in the first place
but i haven't changed my view on him just because we are 4th in the Championship, he's doing what i thought he would do and i still think we will live to regret the time we will have wasted on Bruce as our manager
This is 100%  my thoughts and worries for us to the letter.

I'd have sacked Bruce at half time tonight. Credit where it's due, whatever was said at half time seemed to do the trick. At least we competed and forced them on the back foot. We were lucky to go in only 1-0 down at half time. Football is always about very fine lines and tonight Bruce got lucky. It's about time we had a lucky manager.
