So far so good, onwards and upwards. Next month is going to be tough, so what, we are proving to be more resilient of late as well as coping with injuries to "non replaceable"  players. I for one like this winning feeling and suggest we all enjoy it, we've had enough shit to put up with over the past few seasons, so let's enjoy it while it lasts and hope that it lasts for years. Bruce in, credit where it's due!

He's getting results but we have to find something to have a go at Bruce at it seems.

You've hit the  nail on the head.

Doesn't matter how well Bruce does the haters will spend hours looking for something to use against Bruce.

I'm not his biggest fan, but he has got us through a busy period with an ever increasing injury list. We are where we should be, considering the spending we have made in the past 18 months. If we can remain 3 or 4th at the end of the busy period whilst closing in on the top two, then he deserves more plaudits.

Nah, I think we're all happy with the current run bur some/many just want us to play with more swagger and intent rather than fleeting bits of good football. We should be able to manage it more frequently given our resources.

Agree Eamonn, but sometimes the ends justify the means. I would love to swagger into the PL but I'm quite happy to trip into it as long as we get there!

You do remember we're still lower down the league table than the likes of Cardiff and Sheffield United?

When we're top I'll cut him some slack. While we're winning I'll cut him some slack. If neither of those apply he deserves criticism for underperforming.

Bet he can't wait to be cut some slack by you. Bet he lies awake at night thinking about the day he'll be cut some slack by you.

Bruce will be delighted with the three points but more importantly that Adam has cut him some slack. #cutsomeslack

What on earth has that got to do with anything?

I'm merely pointing out that saying that some people will moan about Bruce regardless is a bit of a silly thing to say when we're not currently the best team in the league.

OK I have been trying not to bite BUT... Yes of late Bruce has been doing well however we are lagging behind a couple of teams who possess  very meagre  resources compare to us which indicates that our overall season so far is only slightly better than average. 35 points from 19 games (1.8 per game) is not good enough and table illustrates it very well. We need automatic promotion and for that to happen Bruce needs to up his performance considerably. He has never achieved more than 1.8 points per game over a season in his promotion seasons. In the remaining 27 games he needs to deliver 60 points at 2.2 per game.  If he does that I will praise him unreservedly.

Good job in channelling your inner Taylor Swift.  you'll be posting haterz gonna hate nonsense before long.

We should be aiming for top 2 this season, we should all be able to agree on that.  Whilst the gap to that is closing he's doing his job and that's all anyone can ask.  If we lose a few and drift out to 7-8 points off the pace again he'll have people complaining again, that's what happens when the targets are so high, it doesn't take a huge amount of poor form to fuck the season up, once again, we're still recovering from the 5 points in 5 games start to the season.

Exactly.  But it also follows that since then we have indeed been one of the best two teams in the league, whilst at the same time dealing with a pretty horrendous injury quota.  So if we can hope the first 5 games were a blip during a bedding in period (and it does look increasingly that that is the case), he's not really underperforming as some people suggest.

I do appreciate it's all pretty fragile though.  Finger crossed we can keep it going through to Christmas and more injuries don't derail us.

No, he's not. He's doing what he was brought in to do. We've got no divine right to be in the top two spots and we've got no divine right not to lose games either. We pulled ourselves within two points of an automatic promotion spot for a while on Saturday. If we can stay in touching distance of the leading pack, that will do for me.
