He's getting results but we have to find something to have a go at Bruce at it seems.

Nothing to do with that. If Kodjia starting acting the arse and upsetting everyone would you a)try and sell him in january or b)call a press conference, announce what a tosser he was, and end up loaning him to Tasmania United. No one ever benefits from washing your dirty linen in public

It's no different to pointing out how stupid the bomb squad was. If you make it obvious a player you manage is an unprofessional twat that you don't want then it's a dumb move as you've just decreased his value and potentially lost clubs that may have had interest in taking him. Lambert was stupid for it, so was Bruce. And so is every other manager that does it.

Sorry, completely nothing to do with the previous discussion, but I've just come on here late this evening and I want to celebrate what our manager has achieved so far.

If SB can get us to 2nd or 1st, he really will be a miracle worker.

We're already 4th and that's something that was completely unthinkable and ungettable, last season.

I am mentioning 1st and 2nd because it's pre-Christmas, there's still time and he has got the team on a roll.

Injuries, sminjuries....whatever he's doing, carry on.
The lads are responding.

Go, Steve!

So how do you account for the Renaissance of ex-bomb squad member Alan Hutton, the most professional, least twattish player we've got?

Wait.. so clubs that are in trouble because of FFP cant sell their players to get out of trouble with FFP?

What sort of chance does that give us then?

FPP is all about income and expenditure - Transfers will alway be counted - whether at a loss or as a profit. In the  example quoted, if we sold Hogan after 1 year for 5 mill - we would post that as a lost of 4 mill - not 7 mill - because his value has reduced from 12mill to 9 mill during his first year (3 mill "depreciation" per year)

I was talking about RM in the second sentence, hence the full stop to separate the two. It doesn't matter if it's putting them in a bomb squad or publicly calling a player a lazy twat, either way you've devalued them. I don't remember too many beating down the door to sign many of the bomb squad, same as we weren't exactly fighting off suitors for RM.

Let's not forget he was not just upsetting the squad, he was missing training on several occasions (including not been able to open those famous front gates). When that kind of thing happens, then word will get about amongst players and other clubs will hear about it. Bruce could have kept quiet about it and said he was out of favour but then he would have been lying and bearing in mind the injury crisis in the striking department at the moment, he would have had fans on his back for not picking him. He told the truth and I think he did the right thing.

None of the recent managers who have been so profligate with the two last owners'  money would have got away with it under Doug Ellis.

well Bruce made Ross unsellable IMO. Yeah he was a liability, but don't tell the whole world about it.

Ross made Ross unsellable.

nah, after Bruce mouthed off, all the fulham stuff came out. They knew but kept their mouths shut, and got rid. In January when it all blew up, a striker who had scored 21 goals the previous season was a saleable asset. After all the press, we couldn't give him away

Or his actions since we bought him made him unsellable. The guy was fat lazy and had an awful attitude. He own doing. How you then say it was Bruce is silly.

Whoever signed him didn't scout him, they looked down the list of top scorers and grabbed a couple, 1 worked out well, the other was shit.  We then repeated the trick in January.
