In his post match interview he also stated that you could get by with one player having a bad game but when six or seven are you have no chance. The perplexing thing is that if six or seven are not playing well why only use two subs?
Yes i heard that too on the way home----and at the time thought here we go another new excuse---but as manager should he not be thinking it a bit odd that as many as 6/7 players strangely for some reason have a bad game in front of the third highest crowd of the day? on the day that they are supposed to be plying their trade--that is most unprofessional surely questions need to be asked? is this a sign that the dressing room is being or already has been lost?

“There’s some who will never accept me here, but that’s part and parcel of management”.

Absolute wanker.

At the risk of being accused of something or other, I don’t see what’s wrong with what he said. On the few occasions I hear any football phone ins there’s always somebody not happy with whoever is appointed manager for whatever team.
He's alluding to the fact that he's never been wanted here due to his blues connection. It's utter shite. Yet another pathetic attempt at deflecting the blame. The man has no shame. He's a total shithouse.

I suppose you can read it however you like but there were plenty on here didn’t want him and had nothing to do with who he used to manage.

There is absolutely no doubt he is intimating that it’s about his connection with the Rags.
He has history of using that kind of bullshit.

I said earlier, he is in self preservation mode, and planting the seeds so that when he is sacked, his buddies will report (spin) how hard done by he has been because Villa fans could never accept his association with them down the road, rather than him being sacked for being shite.

I honestly think he's a decent bloke but he's been weighed down by the pressure so now he's spouting nonsense on a weekly basis which isn't doing him any favours.

Lambert and McLeish were also like this, said all the things fans wanted to here at the start and then became defensive and very economical with the truth just before they both left.

"There's some people who will never accept me here" That's a direct quote and it can only be meant one way. He's referring to the fact that he's ex blues and some people can't accept it. It's a load of bollocks.

Lambert turned into a twat but I can't remember McLeish telling any lies in interviews.

As has been said, he pulled similar stunts at Sunderland. I can't think of many decent blokes that lie on a regular basis, chuck their staff under the bus, have shit on a number of employers and insult their 'customers'.

Maybe not lies but towards the end his interviews basically turned into why just staying up was a success and he deserved another season. After he left he claimed in an interview he was close to signing players like Glyfi Sigurdsson and a few others I've forgotten.

He spent 10m on N'zogbia and had a decent core of senior pros here so more to work with than Lambert.

If they had the next Ferguson or the next Ronaldo, I doubt many Villa fans would care about  a Blues connection.
It's just a bad excuse, from a poor manager.

I'm too lazy to search back but I remember him saying losing Bent and Petrov didn't help, especially as both were after the window closed so we were stuffed, but not much that was a piss take. And pretty much every manager is going to say they deserve another season. To me that's a big difference to the stuff listed above that Bruce is doing. Mind you, that celebratory raised fist after the glory of a 1-1 home draw against Stoke still annoys me.

true
that’s me, I never wanted him, still don’t and never will

nothing to do with Blues just I’ve seen nothing ever in any Bruce team where i thought yes he’s what I want to see at VP
he was everything I don’t like in a manager before he came, all he’s done is confirm it over the last two years

not just Bruce,
see also Pulis, Alardyce, Lambert, Mclaren, Hughes, Moyes, Warnock, Coleman, Pardew, Mcliesh, Strachan,
I would have exactly the same view if any of them were/are appointed

there’s not a fag paper between the lot of them

Some people like to make it more personal than it is.  This is a job to Bruce, like it's a job to the players.  They have professional pride and will talk about the situation as such.

The reason so many ex/current players and managers speak up for him is that he's been around a long time (and reciprocates, as would most people).  This isn't some kind of 'secret club' thing working to secretly ensure people in the club get jobs in a machiavellian way.  It's the same in any industry: respect and decency is met with respect and decency.  I read stuff on here sometimes that makes me cringe (sabotage etc).

For me, clearly a decent man, but it's time to go now.  His time is up.

Sorry I disagree, the Football world is very different to most industries.
There is lots Of back scratching, brown envelopes, secret deals tapping up and an unhealthy relationships between old pros, managers agents and elements of the press.

I don't think Bruce is a decent bloke at all. He's a petty, excuse-making, lying, turd of a person.
