In his post match interview he also stated that you could get by with one player having a bad game but when six or seven are you have no chance. The perplexing thing is that if six or seven are not playing well why only use two subs?

Because the cowardly one only puts 2 attacking players on the bench

I'll admit I did want him because I thought he'd take us up. Now I've seen he's not going to I want to get rid

Percy in the Telegraph reckons Purslow wants stability and doesn't have an appetite to get rid. If true, Purslow starts out as a spineless wibbler.

We do need stability, just not at the level Bruce can deliver.

I don't think Bruce is a decent bloke at all. He's a petty, excuse-making, lying, turd of a person.

100% this. This idea he’s a decent bloke seems to be based on very thin evidence and he’s building up a lot of evidence to the contrary.

Exactly.  What we absolutely don't want is stability in the second tier.  We want upward movement and as quickly as possible.  What Bruce offers isn't stability but inertia.

He may or mat not be a nice bloke, but he's a shite football manager.

He offers absolutely no value whatsoever for vast salary he recieves.

Put me down as another that never wanted him, but it was because I expected him to deliver exactly what he has. I even said, repeatedly, that I thought he might get us promoted but I didn't want him anyway because it was all going to short term repeating of the mistakes we've been making regularly for 10 years.

My biggest issue though is that I just don't get what he actually does:

He doesn't do any training
He doesn't work out tactics to target weaknesses in the opposition
He doesn't add anything during the match, with his subs either premeditated (Adomah off after about 65-70 minutes has been a recent one, as was subbing off Hourihane for a while) or reactionary and his tactical changes almost completely divorced from what's actually happening (how many times have his changes made us look better?)
His squad building is fucking abysmal
and now his motivational ability is questionable as well, which was probably the only thing he had in his favour.

What does he actually do away from from the dug out?

I find it amazing that he doesn't take any part in training. As an ex manager myself, you have to get stuck in and see what people are doing, how they are inter reacting and gain a bit of their respect. You have to be a part of the team.

I guess you could argue that he convinces good players to join us - Terry, Hourihane, Snodgrass, McGinn and possibly others have all mentioned Bruce being a big factor in joining us. He has a charm/likeability factor that probably also extends to good motivational/man-management abilities in the changing room/training but over the long term they aren't the strongest attributes and if you don't have much else, well...you're a bit of a chancer who is winging it really.

It will happen when the fans really turn at a home game, lose the fans support and you are gone the pressure just becomes too much. Apart from that I can't imagine for one minute the owners are not weighing up their options.

Maybe, but given all of those players have come in on wages that are massively out of reach to most clubs at this level and didn't (as far as I'm aware) have any offers in the premier league I think that's a fairly minor positive.  Just to clarify before I get moaned at with "he has 4 promotions so he can't be shit" what I'm getting it (alongside thinking he seemed pretty half-arsed given he's repeatedly said it's the biggest job he's ever had) is that I can't think of anything to say he's a particular type of manager. Most managers you can pick things they excel at but I really can't with Bruce and never have been able to. The best thing about him seems to be a list of contacts which helps him get players that might seem out of reach for the club. That's not a bad thing but if the best thing you bring is your address book then you'd probably be better as a chief scout of a board member.

The lack of involvement in training just reinforces the fact that he takes no responsibility.
None before they play and none afterwards.
