We kept clean sheets with Elphick if I recall correctly.

Anyway, Bruce is apparently in Ireland at his mother's funeral.  So said Tom Ross on Talkshite.  Perhaps the reason he hasn't been ditched yet.

Just going off what Leeds and Fulham fans said. He'd come back carrying too much timber.

I think his split from his partner probably had a knock on effect. Increased drinking and decreased gate opening.

He was carrying serious timber upon his unveiling as a Villa player. If I recall that was just before the season started. He was shite in the main when he did play, shite and AWOL when at Forest, no club interested in taking him off our bomb squad....problem ain't Steve Bruce.

Loads of things I can, and do, take issue with Steve Bruce and his management, this is not one of them

Brue's crimes are more against football than footballers. Overall he's done a very good job bringing together a great group of players and keeping them pretty much all, focused.

His problem is he hasn't got a fucking clue what to do with them.

Still here is he? Very disappointed! Bruce out he’s had enough chances. More than he’s deserved.

100% nail on head.  More players is his only method.

You can give Bruce his head and allow him as many players as he wishes, it would make no difference as he has no idea how to coach them into a coherent, functioning unit.   He needs arse and collaring out of the door asap as far as I'm concerned.

I think this summer has shown again that he is incapable of building a balanced and well structured squad.

In a way it mirrors his scattergun approach to substitutions. How many times over the last couple of seasons have we found ourselves behind with 10 minutes to go and six forwards on the pitch all competing for the same ball in the same limited patch of space?

He is tactically inept, his mistakes in the transfer market caused by poor planning are hurting us and quite frankly his Barry Fry-esq approach to transfers is ludicrous and not what is required at AVFC.

Depressingly true.
Bruce was ok when most teams played hoofball in the Championship. No longer the case and no longer is he suitable for a manager's role.

Didn't she die months ago? Very long gap, especially in Ireland.

Unless it's a memorial service, of course.

100% my nan had passed and been buried within about 3 days in CO Mayo so that would be a very long gap

Think it takes longer these days after the Stephen Ireland shenanigans.
