Disappointed to see thread title not changed so far😥

"Bruce IN!" any better?
“Bruce Sacked” would be much better.

I still don't know how people can use McCormackgate as a stick to beat Bruce (or any other manager with)

McCormack took the piss out of the club by not turning up to do his very well paid job, not once but numerous times.

What is a manager supposed to do when a player does that? serious question.

Do you think his team mates would have wanted him welcomed back into the fold like he'd done nothing wrong either?

Imagine the message that would've sent out. I'm a supporter and I couldn't care if Ross had previously scored five hat tricks in a row. You can't have players taking the piss and doing whatever they want. For all his faults, the one thing Bruce definitely got 100% right was getting the whole squad unified last season. There were no bad apples as far as I could see, just a group of players all playing for their manager and each other. For the first time in YEARS.

I'm not even sure McCormack has even apologised to Bruce or his team mates. Fuck him, and rightly so.
McCormack should have been disciplined to the maximum allowed by the club and rightly so. The full story should never have been made public by Bruce cos I’m pretty sure McCormack wouldn’t have gone public with the circumstances. I’m willing to bet that at every club in the country you’ll get similar situations but we rarely hear the circumstances. That’s how should have handled it

Not sure how you couldn't make it public with the level of media scrutiny there is now and the way things are leaked on social media.  I think Bruce deserves criticism for a myriad of things, but the way he has dealt with McCormack is not one of them.
Disagree I’m afraid, all the world needed to know was “McCormack fined for missing training” How else would we have known about his lack of climbing ability if Bruce hadn’t publicly outed him?? Poor man management that made McCormack virtually unsellable

Oh hang on arsehole you have ten internationals and you got turned over 4-1 by an ok championship team?

Thats the problem though the other teams have more time together so obviously having internationals is detrimental to your team, obvious isn't it?

I think there's a very good chance that it may run a bit deeper than him just missing a few training sessions.

You are allowed to disagree of course. But if that had happened what would the press/supporters and everybody else have done when he was still not in the team next match ? and the next and the next and the next etc. AT least by telling the world how it was, we could all know exactly why he was no longer an 'option'

The man is clearly an arsehole who has no interest in whether he plays or not and is happy to sit on his arse counting his coin.

About Ross McCormack? His "dietary issues" mentioned earlier are his fondness for Wetherspoons rather than McDonald's.

Totally agree with your last paragraph but how many other clubs publicly out a player with the exact circumstances of an incident???

But like SLB said, if Bruce had just said 'he's just missed a couple of training sessions' then continued not to pick him, then he would have been asked every week why is was not in the squad.

The point you're missing is that had we not washed our dirty laundry in public, we might have been able to sell him, in which case nobody would have been in a position to ask where he was.

Also, the club's top earner hasn't played for donkey's years and they seem to have kept the reasons for that under close wraps without too much trouble or questioning  :o

Or, if he hadn’t completely alienated the bloke by ‘outing’ him, he may have had the chance to build bridges and bring him back into the fold by you know, MANAGING him and the situation.
As someone else said, he is a costly club asset and you can’t just devalue assets because of personal vendettas.
