If Sulamani isn't able to get into a poor Grimsby team why would he make the Villa team?
Remember Alli and Kane were kicking around trying to get a game at lower league clubs not so long ago. Alli made only 12 appearances in a season long loan at MK Dons and Kane made it 3 times on the pitch in 2012/13 season at Norwich.

Alli did start his career at MK Dons and played over 60 games for them. He was just loaned back to them when Spurs bought him.

If we want a player on loan there is no way we would get him if Wyness told the player's contracted club we will play him very occasionally,  probably out of position but he will have the lifetime benefit of rubbing shoulders with the likes of Richards and Agbonlahor.   Our youth system is for our benefit not strengthening the options on the bench at places like Grimsby.

I honestly don't see the problem with it. Surely it's better for young players to get out and experience playing in a different environment for a few months or a season rather than playing in front of an empty Villa Park on a Monday night?

Suliman was sent back early from his loan at Cheltenham Town for not being physically up to it.  He might have filled out since then though.

No idea how long Suliman has been at Grimsby (or if i'm honest, who Suliman is) but didn't they change managers recently?

I saw him once for Cheltenham (luckily it was a freebie) - he was absloutely terrible and got subbed early in the 2nd half for continually getting caught out of position. The general talk wasn't very positive.

But hey, that was one game, a long time ago now!

Suliman's the England under-20s captain so being at Grimsby is hardly harming his career.

They were terribly unimpressed. But I think the problem was he was just too small to cope with being kicked around by League 2 thugs.

Respectfully I am much less concerned with Suliman's international career than his Aston Villa career.  It is probably an age thing but the whole business of farming out young players, often a long way from home, to bring them on rather than keeping them within the club system to me seems like carrying out brain surgery through the soles of the patient's feet.

Has anybody sent Bruce a weather report for tomorrow?

If not can somebody let him know it will be raining in Hull until midday with a 50% change of a bit more rain around 4pm but then should clear up. It will be cold though, 4º expected.

85% chance Bruce will be in Bob Carver's by 8pm.

The game I saw was against Doncaster was the exact opposite of that. Managed by Darren Ferguson. They played superb passing football and absolutely outclassed Cheltenham. The biggest of 1-0 thrashings you'll ever see.

And when he was loaned back he didn't play much. May be it's a problem of being a loanee/having a loanee. I have a little intuition  that Onomah will be a linchpin of England set up for 2022 world cup.

And who do you think should replace him Malandro?
