Aston Villa 3-0 Leeds 1996 - the league meeting.
« on: February 02, 2017, 10:31:50 PM »

Leeds always felt like a tough fixture when I started following football but in 1996 we really did hold the voodoo card over them, 3-0 at home, 2-0 at home later in the year and two victories over them in the League Cup including the drubbing we gave them at Wembley in the Final. Here are the goals from the 3-0 home win early 1996, Dwight Yorke on fire and Alan Wright firing in his usual quality goal.

Thanks!  First time I've seen those since probably 1996 :)

Savo lucky not to miss the rest of the season after that tackle.  That would probably be a red these days.  We really were a good team that season, shame we weren't more consistent.

Ha I was at that game. It was a VIP ticket thingy a Xmas present from the parents. Had a meal and drinks before the game then various other stuff after. Everyone in the room was given a vote for mam of the match and the winner would then come in for a meet and greet and interview. I voted for Staunton but Ian Taylor won the award.

Great memories, seems a lifetime ago.
