What did we do so wrong in town yesterday afternoon

Seemed to me that every pub - the bar was being shut from Shakes to the Windsor and Spoons.

Great  day  apart from a certain 90 mins.

I assume  with Small Heath being at home it was on police advice.

It had more to do with the  Villa getting excited for the match.  How the bar  manger in  the Windsor thought  her bar maids were under threat for the singing of Baker wears a magic hat is beyond me.
