I'd like to see the forward that could score with our current midfield providing zero service when they are not handing possesion back to the opposition.

Utter Fucking garbage I was so angry last night and I'm still fucked off this morning plus points. Chester..Elphick was better the end. Our midfield is fucking atrocious attack is atrocious.

We're going to be stuck in this division. Can't blame Bruce but just look at the bench our squad is weak need to get a forward and a fee midfielder because as it is it's just a joke

I feel exactly the same, mate. The crap, dull performances are never ending.

I really sticks in my throat that we lost to a team managed by Lambert too, for all the damage that bozo did.

Last night was more like August 1987 Villa than January 1988 Villa.

Has anybody any suggestions as to who we can play on the forward line that doesn't include Gabby? if we have to go through the next three or four games with that line up we will probably lose them all or draw at best because we most certainly won't score ourselves. I believe Green has to be given a start just to see what he has to offer after that I'm at a total loss.

May as well throw the kids in now, Davis, RHM, Green, even McKirdy.  Absolutely nothing to lose and may even uncover a future star

Any of Green, RHM or Davis would be preferable to Abgonlahor. I'm sick and tired of seeing him in our team. No wonder RHM wants away.

Yesterday was a passionless bag of piss. If Bruce honestly think we don't need new players and thinks he can coach the likes of Hutton, Bacuna, Flabby et al to be better, given the shitfest we've had in the last few years then I will start to lose faith with him too.  One might argue that we've improved since he arrived but that glass ceiling is clearly there for all Villa fans to see. We will NOT get promoted with the likes of Hutton, Bacuna, Flabby, Westwood, Gardner in the side. They HAVE to be replaced. It'll take time and I have given up on it happening this season.  Not one shot on target yesterday. Absolutely crap.

Are we cutting off our nose to spite our face in not playing RHM?

In the words of the late SGT, "Do I not like that" or "Can we not knock it?"

In the most emotional week a lot of us older Villa fans can remember, Steve Bruce and his current Villa team serve up one of the most embarrassing performances I have seen for many a long time.

The great man himself will have been looking down on that and (paraphrasing here) thinking this club is a shambles- yet again!

When was the last time we had a properly fit Aston Villa team? I'd go as far back as the Brian Little team or even the Ron Atkinson team when Roger Spry was the fitness coach. Everyone was always in space making themselves available for a pass. Looking at the current squad, so many appear out of condition that questions surely have to be asked about what is happening at BMH.

I thought Johnstone, Chester, Amavi, Bacuna and Hutton did ok. The rest were utter garbage. Again, you have to question what is going on in training if Baker is so out of condition he gets injured warming up ffs, Elphick, Tish, Jedi, Gabby and McCormack look like Sunday league players.

I was thinking about Grealish also. The lad clearly has some talent, a lovely first touch and the ability to draw a foul, but I was thinking his attributes might be more suited playing as a number eight, a bit further forward, more in a Gary Shaw type position. I think we'd certainly win a few more penalties and could he be any worse than McCormack? Not sure that he has the pace or strength to be a midfielder.

I like Steve Bruce. He truly seems honoured to be at Villa, but he needs to re-assess this current squad/coaches/assistants as the football is regressing back to the bad days of last season. If he continues to serve up the shite that we've been treated to recently then his days will be numbered too.

This. It's so depressing seeing him still in the Villa shirt. It beggars belief actually.

A good day out spoiled by 90 mins of football, again.

I think Bruce can feel let down by some of he players he's given a chance to, bit part players coming in really haven't grabbed the opportunity, Tishbolas awareness of players running behind him was none existent, McCormack looked unfit and out of his depth and Gabby played the way we all expected him to, yes he was that bad.

It wasn't all bad, three quarters of the defence looked solid and the goal aside, the keeper did well. It was further forward where the problems arose, little energy from any of the midfielders, a propensity to give the ball away under little pressure and a complete lack of movement and nous from the forwards. Whilst I thought Wolves were poor as well we did well to come away with a single goal defeat. We've now played everyone and I'm still to see what I would call a good side, that we are mid table in a division so short of excellence says volumes about this set of players.

They really need to pull their finger out and stamp their mark on the league form now on in.

Great to see that during his time away from the team Agbonlahor really worked on his fitness/fatness.

There must be a club in China that will take him.

I watched Leeds in Friday against Derby. Average game with very little chances, but Leeds played with passion and pace and really looked liked they wanted it. They have players who can go past a man and seem like a real team. We have none of these attributes yet Monk has done this from a shambolic base and they have become a good side for this division. They have players whom I have never heard of yet are way better quality than we have on the strenght of the few times Ive seen Leeds play and they didnt spend £50m to assemble.

Their CF is Chris Woods who has many of the attributes of Gesteded i.e he is good in the air but very limited elsehwere. He has scored 14 league goals because they play to his strenghts and have players around him with the power, pace and desire mentioned above.

On paper we should have a better side but clearly from the two meetings with them and their current league position this is not the case. You have to wonder about the coaching and fitness regime at BMH. Also I thought Bruce being appointed would get the immediate respect of the players but this is clearly not the case. They arent listening to what they are being told and clearly arent playing for him or the shirt. This is worrying in itself.

In terms of Lambert, I thought Wolves were ordinary yesterday and played far better under Zenga at VP earlier this season. He is a bang average manager and wont take the Yam yam's anywhere but mid table at best. Like others have said I cant stand the bloke
