Funny thing is I think we're focussing on the wrong target, Lyon is the key to breaking down their attack. Take him on so he can't hold an end and the pacers will get burned out.

Off we go then. We simply can’t afford an early wicket.

Fuck that's a massive blow. We really need to knock Lyon out of the attack.

We can't sit in against Lyon, we have to put the pressure on him.

This is going to be very dodgy against Lyon unless one of these takes him on and gets him off.

Lyon has improved immeasurably over the last 18 months. He used to be so inferior in comparison to someone like Greame Swann but now he's become a clever bowler who can either defend or attack like Swann could and gets good players out. This allows them to rotate their quicks.

Now if you give Lyon a 4th/5th day pitch he makes it count like Swann used to, that hasn't always been the case.

And right on cue that's a beauty from Lyon to get Malan.

I'd have put Bairstow in next to try and wrestle back the initiative here.
