Been saying it after every game lately - surely that must be Agbonlahor's last game for us.
Absolute crap.

Amavi had a decent game today although he had to do little in the way of defending. Even Hutton had an ok game, but Agbonlahor has got to go or be frozen out

My Brother was out and about and asked to be updated. I messaged him to say we had scored, he asked who the scorer was and I said Gabby, to which he instantly replied ..who really scored? I think he would have believed me more if Id said Bunn.

Re Baker... to put it another way, in the Bruce era it's 2.4 points a game when he starts, 1 point a game when Elphick starts.

Thought second half we were actually pretty good, very solid at the back and created a few chances. Bacuna a definite upgrade on other mid options at the moment, and Baker's looking indispensable. Hutton and amavi good too

QPR really are bad, very bad. If we have any intent of promotion sides like them need putting to the sword.  We did it with 10 men in effect as McCormack offers zilch.

We're playing with half a midfield. That we have as many points as we do is a miracle in light of that.

Judging by the way he and Grealish were pinging the ball to each other at half time, Gollini would be a better bet to play ahead of Gardner.

Also, there was an ovation, rather than an egging, for Tim F. Sherwood from our fans. Baffling.

Thought Baker, Chester and Jedinak were great.

Kodj reminded me of Dean Saunders today with all the channel running. RMC was woeful and I'll be interested to see how many times Steve Bruce has to see Gabby run around to realise he's finished at this, and probably most levels?

Very important win.

True and he's better

Though elphick started two of our three hardest away games plus wolves before Bruce had made any impact

Fair point. Also, against wolves he was in a back 4 with Richards so probably harsh to single him out as the decisive factor in our shitness. Although, on the other hand, you could also say we deserved absolutely nothing from his only win!

Ross apart (was it him that missed the open goal rebound after the botched penalty?), the starting team did well. Hell of difference from Norwich game!

Was worried Bacuna wouldn't perform like he can in that makeshift left mid. But he was comfortable cutting across mid and helping Jedi and Gardner mid. He was even combining with AA and Hutton several times. With his energy he was always quick to get back and linking with Amavi on the left as required. Havn't seen distance covered numbers but figure he i up there. Didn't miss Grealish or Ayew out left since Bacuna had such a good game but we could had used either one instead of RMC beside Kodjia instead.

Gardner had a couple of terrible games but played mid beside Jedinak where Westwood have been the last 3 games and outdid him by a mile. 60% more passes, 5 times as much aerials and tackles and even 3 shots (1 on target, 1 miss and one blocked). Only Kodjia had more with 6. He is one of those players that never going to be great but improve a lot when Westwood isn't within pointing distance.

Back 4 flawless until Bruce figured he shore up the defensive and introduced Westwood and Rudy. Baker and Chester didnt have to work that hard today cause our midfield actually broke up most of the attacks. When called upon they where clinical... Baker looks like a different player than that awkward defender Lambert introduced beside Clark. Always been brave but there is something else about him and clicks well with Chester. Even Hutton deserves some accolade today.

3 points away from home and in good mood on Sunday. Figure that!

Look much better with Baker at the back

Midfield still an issue as no one can control game from there , Jedinek breaks up play well but his passing is limited and whilst he is deep breaking up play nothing going on ahead of him.Gardner better ball winner than Westwood but gives ball away alot.
If I turned on tv midmatch and watched us I would suspect we were down to 10 men as we always look rushed on ball and no one really find space.

Kodjia wins it for us and will be huge loss in Jan.

Ross had one good turn and pass in FH but after that was not involved , looks down on confidence but the mf don't help him.Bacuna did well but we could do with some natural left footed players in MF as we look unbalanced

Baker was back and solid. He's looking a very, very useful player in this division. Hopefully he can stay fit for most of it.

As for us, a million times better than against Norwich (though it was a help QPR are a million times worse than Norwich).

Kodjia got the goal he deserved. My one criticism of him is that he needs to learn that he has to pass the ball much more than he does. He tries to do too much on his own too often. But his effort was good.

Bacuna was ok, but our midfield still looks weak. I'm sure we're all hoping for a couple of signings of midfielders to help with this situation.
