Saturday Nights Match
« on: November 30, 2016, 10:20:08 AM »
Sorry if this is on the wrong page, but I need a little assistance.

I am away in Amsterdam this weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations where I can catch the game?

I'm staying near the Vondel Park so any suggestions on where to watch the match would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

The Bulldog is one of the biggest coffee shops (I think it was the first?), and when I went they had live football playing on Sky Sports. A smoke and watching football go really nicely together as well if that's your kind of thing.

I watched us lose to Chelsea last season while relaxing in the Bulldog. Much more chilled than it used to be back in the day when its motto could have been "If Broad Street did ganja houses."

Under normal circumstance it wouldn't be a problem but on there meeting suppliers and a familiarity trip for the business that I am in so probably wouldn't be the best.

It will shock them enough when they see me coming out of the brass house!

Just read that back and realised how dodgy that sounded.

There are loads of bars at Leidesplein (square) which show football. Just a short walk from Vondelpark

Yes, a bit more laid back over that way as well.

That sounds like heaven.

Whilst living in Shanghai, and to a larger extent, Cambodia, I watched most of our games, stoned. It was during the Houllier, McLeish and Lambert years, so certainly helped.

As our game clashes with West Ham v Arsenal and I think also Sky's coverage of El Classico, it may prove tricky convincing a Dutch bar owner to put Leeds v Villa on.

It's definitely on in the St James's Gate pub. They have loads of TV's!

Whilst on the subject, I shall be in town on Saturday evening so where would people recommend as a good place to watch our game in the centre of Brum?
