I'll be preparing for this game in the usual way, by watching 'World of Sport' and washing my beige Vauxhall Viva

After watching Tiswas, I'll be washing my Raliegh Chopper, buying Blakeys for my Solatio shoes and overdosing on Spangles
After buying a new pair of Oxford bags, I'll collect my Crombie (made in Huddersfield) fom the dry cleaners, put the claret and blue hankerchief back in the top pocket and walk down to Radio Rentals to pay my telly rental bill (got a new colour telly last year).

I don't think I've ever seen Villa win at Elland Road, despite having been half a dozen times. The first time was after our 1975 promotion, nad we lost 1-0 and barely escaped with our life. The last time was the game when Gareth Southgate scored twice in a 2-2 draw (Kewell scored a screamer right after the second-half kick-off).

I'm taking a Leeds supporting mate of mine up for his first ever game at Elland Road. He's been a fan since the early 70s but has only seen them play once (away at 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' around a decade ago)

The world's worst glory hunter?

I was undecided about going to this as it's just down the road from me, i only go to matches these days with my son and wasn't keen on taking him to Elland Road. I'm working on saturday so it was a relief to have the decision taken out of my hands.

Birmingham bags (Birmos), surely?

Leeds United, sausage sandwiches, wrestling on telly, its what the seventies were all about.

It could be Kendo Nagasaki, Jimmy Savile or the Queen

They were awful vs Newcastle.

This!  Saw some of that match .And against QPR hammered 3-0 on tv . I think centrally they are weak and don't have any one like jedinak or much going on midfield.  Wood is a physical try hard goal scorer typical championship player robust neat with his head . Can create things Leeds and few nice flair type if given room. I would imagine they won't take to grealish and expect him to be fouled by players and booed by fans same if gabby is involved and ayew too. They 'll be over excited fans and create atmosphete playing us and it's a big game to them and they gotta grasp any big matches they can after thete demise from premier league. However thst said our villa fans will again be out in force doing club proud!
Kodja and adomah are real deal and see a 2 or 3 goals to 1 victory and perhaps a pen in it too.
My reason is really in the attacking quality we have and the fragility in Leeds back line. I think Bruce organised well and would say a narrow 1- 0 win but i think the 'occassion' will allow villa to exploit Leeds.
A side note I'm a big fan of Gary monk and was more than surprised that he took on Leeds- due to current owner.
I think he has a good winning mentality a progressive coach if not still a bit naive and stubborn
Anyway up the villa 😀

Oh and regards the dont look back in anger adopted anthem is it an idea to sing name of opposition whenever we take lead or end of Match or when fans are leaving early.
Would be classic singing that to opposition whilst they walking out !

You have seen us win because we won the Southgate/Kewell game. 2-1.

Would happily take a 1-1 here and keep the unbeaten run going.

We did, it was my soon to be very much ex partner's first ever football match. She came out of the game and said "blimey, Villa are good and I always thought it was Gordon Southgate".

I didn't watch them last night but I wasn't overly impressed with them when they played Newcastle. I reckon it'll be another 1-1 draw though.

I never ever think we'll win at Elland Rd and this is no different.

We did it twice last time we went down so I'm sticking with that.

2-1, McInally with the winner.
