On the song debate someone in the queue for the train at Brighton last week started singing "the day we caught the train" by OCS. It was superb and it got me thinking that this would sound great with the Villa fans belting out the chorus. Lead singer Simon Fowler is a big Villa fan so for me this would be a much better choice than any Oasis song who are such big Man City fans. I also agree with the Twang for the same reasons. They could easily put the lyrics on the big screens for those people that don't know them. I like Oasis but I flat refuse to join in with that song.Sorry to be pedantic, but it's the drummer (Oscar) who is the big Villa fan. Simon Fowler claims to be a Blues fan, but gives the impression, like so many musicians of that era, that his love of football is a bit of a pretence really.

The BBC match report reckons Cardiff dominated the second half. Does anyone else think that because I didn't see it like that at all.
They started the second half (and first for that matter) really strongly but didn't create clear cut chances. Lambert going off helped us as his replacement looked poor. Thought we looked comfortable and caught them on the break several times. Met a Cardiff fan through a mutual friend afterwards in The Craven Arns who could not believe how many thugs of all ages they were sitting by in their stand - apparently it was a bit nasty outside afterwards.
I don't like it that much personally (as a Villa song I mean, the lyrics are fine, there's no problem there) but a lot of people seem to and it's took off so I don't see the harm in it.

Would've been a good option to bring on in the second half for Westwood who I thought looked too lightweight, especially being out-muscled for their goal.This. I've no idea why he can't get a game.

Hard-earned win. Didn't dominate possession but had more chances. Cardiff are fucking animals. Oasis have no place at Villa Park.
Regarding Don't Look Back In Anger I really don't care. As has been said we've tried to manufacture a club song but apart from 50 people singing 50 different words to The Bells Are Ringing we've never got anywhere. I'd prefer us not to be singing the song of some man City Mancs but people like it, it fits, and how many other club's anthems are penned by musicians that support them? Hopefully in years to come people will be wondering we the famous Aston Villa sing an Oasis song which has no apparent connection to the club.I hope it sticks around for a bit as I like a club song. It's better than what the 'kids' have done to the Paul McGrath song anyway.
