I'd quite like Gerrard to simply vanish. Massively overrated. It was wonderful to beat them in the cup semi final last year. He was garbage fir England, and a pea headed dirty thug to boot. Good riddance.

He was well past his best in that semi but I think you're re-writing history around his ability. He played in pretty mediocre Liverpool sides in the 2000s but consistently lifted their performances. His trophy haul is testament to that as is his goalscoring record of one in about 3.5 over 700 games.

His performances for England were pretty mediocre admitedly but that could be said of all England players of that era given the muddled thinking and poor managers.

I was at this game.  It was Dudek's home debut in the Liverpool goal and I fancied us win based on that I'd seen him play before and didnt rate him.  We were magnificent that afternoon. 
Helped massively by Owen being on the bench for Liverpool just the week after he scored a hattrick for England in the 5-1 defeat of Germany.  The Villa end gave him a huge round of applause when his name was announced.
