0-2 Cardiff. Warnock climbs above Bruce on points in the Managerial Merry Go Round table in this crucial 6 pointer. Unbeaten record goes out the window and now free from the fear of losing a more cavalier attacking system is adopted and we ride to promotion on the crest of a wave - tonking teams on the way - deep joy unfoldy!
So it's an UN  WIN for us!...geddit.

Hahaha! Very good!

The sort of game we should be winning if we are going to be contenders in the promotion shake up.  Wouldn't be my choice, but I think we will line up like:

                        Gollini

Hutton      Chester     Baker    Amavi

                Jedinak     Gardner

Adomah           Grealish          Ayew

                       Kodjia

Might see Agbonlahor or McCormack start up front with Kodjia out wide, but I personally would have Bacuna over Hutton (might happen), Tshibola instead of Gardner (unlikely) and Gestede (unlikely) up front with Kodjia on the left instead of Ayew.

Ah Stanley Unwin, he was in his hey day when saw my first villa match in 59/60 season as a nine year old, against Cardiff City.  I'm hoping for same result 2-0 but not the weather it was very foggy.

That's the side I'd go for.

Got a feeling he'll drop Ayew for Westwood and go 3 in the middle

Ace! Enjoyed reading that with my morning coffee. Been many a year since I thought of Stanley Unwin - and it hadn't registered with me that he was a Sir.

He'll play either Gabby, I reckon. Cardiff will play deep and on the counter so he'll want a focal point, he doesn't see Kodj as best through the middle and he's giving Gabby every chance up until he can get someone else in.

My first ever Villa game was against Cardiff and we won 2-0. I think history will repeat itself on Saturday.

I forgot that Joe Bennett plays for them now and is likely to start at left back.

Doctor Tony is also flying in for the game.
