Hopefully with Sam Johnstone we have an option to buy otherwise I think it is rather pointless.

Disagree. Both of our current keepers cost us games on a semi regular basis. If he doesn't do that for the rest of the season then he buggers off again it will have been worth it.

Wednesday, Huddersfield, Leeds x2 etc etc both Gollini and Bunn have cost us points, with the help of Elphick.

No problem with him strengthening.

Mark Bunn cost us points in one game against Leeds, he has also made some very good saves during this short spell.
I agree he is not the long term answer but I think he has played well, he is positive and actually catches crosses.

Agreed. We should never just do loans that help other clubs to develop their players.

If he improves us, I couldn't give a toss about developing players on behalf of others.  It is not as if we are at the same level as them.  First and foremost is Aston Villa.

Pat Murphy recent tweets :-

Understand @AVFCOfficial Not in for Jordan Rhodes. And not just @Boro interested in Gestede. Villa not yet rushing into a deal due to @ACON

Any money @AVFCOfficial get in player sales will b reinvested in new signings & Bruce will also be backed if there are some he really wants.

I've seen a quote saying the days of Aston Villa paying over the odds for players has gone (also various Rhodes not rated £11m by Villa comments in the articles) and now Pat Murphy saying "Bruce will also be backed if there are some he really wants"? For a "team" so disjointed and so obviously missing key components this isn't exactly filling me with confidence. Have I missed something relating to the club's finances? Something that crossed my mind is I wonder if we're still on track for Bruce's promotion target? I know he said we were 2 points behind before the win against QPR (I think) and if not if this will change our transfer policy?

After the way we threw around money in the summer it doesn't do any harm to tell the world we have a tight budget to try and get value for money. I'm assuming Xia will back Bruce and we'll see 3 new players this window.

if we can get rid of Richards for this window for a couple of million it will be an added bonus.

If we get a couple of million for Richards we'll be up in front of the beak for fraud.

That is the reality BUT I refuse to accept it.

Is he still injured? I presume he's going to magically rediscover full fitness once the transfer window opens.

Hopefully we can get him just about fit enough to play marbles on the M6.

Not sure we'd get an insurance pay-out for gross stupidity, but worth testing the theory.

We need an insurance job here. Maybe cheltenhamlion can advise how to arrange that?

I thought long and hard about ways to "disappear" him last year.

The easiest way is to pick him in the first team & ask him to mark someone
