Whelan at Stoke, Meyler at Hull, both bench warming. Wouldn't mind either.

Is that Glenn Whelan?  Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else but I'm sure Glenn Whelan is a horrible, thuggish, kick-anything-that-moves, elbow-in-face, studs-down-back-of-calf, knee-high-career-ending-tackle, filthy, dirty bastard kind of player.  The sort of one part footballer / ninety-nine part homicidal maniac that Stoke are known for. I don't think that's what we need, particularly as he must be about forty-five now.

He seems to have been around since the mid-90s, but is still somehow only 32.

I believe it is because he is Nigerian.

Yes, he is named as such thanks to his parents fondness of Guinness.

Whelan at Stoke, Meyler at Hull, both bench warming. Wouldn't mind either.

Both shite too albeit proven performers at this level. Meyler had the potential to be a fine midfielder but injuries really limited his progress, did very well in Austria a few weeks back mind coming on for Whelan.

Jedinak is better than Whelan and the last thing we need is another midfielder petrified of receiving the ball facing his own goal and whose jaws move faster than his feet.

Being linked with a £10m move for Robbie Brady from Norwich on Twitter by Alan Nixon and a few other sources.

A Twitter source seems to think Jordan Rhodes is pretty much nailed on for January.

I don't think we need twitter to say that Rhodes would be a more than valuable asset to the squad.
Just common sense will do.

£10m a bit steep, but would be a decent buy.  We need some balance on the left and he can deliver a good set piece.  Not sure Norwich would want to sell to us though.

More importantly- is he alive?

Wouldn't be my priority (Brady). I'd definitely go for a centre back. Keeper and centre midfielder

A centre mid and a centre back are the priorities for me.

I like Robbie Brady, he's a good player.
