One of our greatest away games winning 2-1 at anfield what a game. Got to say though the home supporters were less than welcoming to us villains   Something that had a tit for tat for many years.  Can't wait to buy the 70's book today

Wouldn't have thought any more than 500 of us there that day   I used to hate going to both the cess pits   Think we played in all white that game

I was also there that day, i used to go every season to Anfield, that dat sat in main stand high up on the half way line.
Friends with a scouser who's firm had 2 ST's and he always blagged em for Villa game.
Go in a good boozer as well the King Charles up the road at the back of Kop. Always made me and my mates welcome.
Great days.

Still have the Official Travel Club ticket stub - £2:20!

It was a classic day all round - bricked by kids on the way through the city; skirmish on Stanley Park; pickpockets on the Annie Road End; coppers useless; beating them; their racist hoolies picking on Villa Black lads and all banding together; not being allowed back through Stanley Park so charging past Littlewoods Pools office armed with fence posts batting off scallies to get to the coaches which had loads of windows smashed; frozen on the way back but all singing daft songs "we all love chips and chips and chips..."

God I miss it...

I travelled up by train with the London Lions. We stood with Scoucers who were very complementary about our young team although McNaught got dogs abuse along the the lines of "your nothing but a f×÷$# stopper McNaught".

John Motson was on the train back to London and one of our number got chatting to him only to be told that he(Motson) didnt rate our performance that highly.Always thought he was a dick, that just confirmed it.

I didn't go the next season think it was a night game but went the end of season game when again it was massively on top the one when they paraded the league championship.  Difficult to recall all the risks we all took following the villa away

Ps at book signing in the holte suite and frank carradus is here the scorer of liverpool's consolation goal - own goal back in Nov 77

"Liverpool's first home defeat for almost two years"...blimey. and we even helped them out with that own goal we conceded - as bad as anything from last season!
