Sorry but no manc bands for me. How's about The Day We Caught The Train by Ocean Colour Scene. Lead singer Simon Fowler is a big Villa fan. Or even something from Black Sabbath. Could you imagine Yanited or Citeh using a Brummie band? No way.

The day Villa run out to Ocean Colour Sh*te would be the day I stopped going. 'The Day We Caught A Train' contains some of the worst lyrics ever written.

Ocean colour scene? No fucking way

It would need to be a song with some resonance to our situation surely? Would rather it wasn't Oasis

There is no need to be so parochial. A manc band wasn't chosen, from what I understand Reading played it just after the final whistle and such was the joy and relief everybody started singing. It wasn't planned, it was utterly spontaneous. It won't be a club anthem but may be a song that will be looked at fondly in years to come as we recall good times.

Christ knows we could do with something to wipe away the misery of the last five years and this singing is an excorsism of sorts.

We played Crazy Train in the pre match build up now.

I was listening on the radio and could hear the fans signing the Oasis track after the Reading win so can only assume someone at the club heard that and decided to put it on if we won yesterday.

Its gotta be a brummie band, at least one of Steel Pulse must be a Villa fan ? Any excuse to play one of their records.

If it's our best chance of stopping OCS then we have to go for it.

You don't need an excuse to play a Steel Pulse song; I play them constantly!

Not sure any of the members of SP are into football.

If Villa started associating with anything by those kings of meat and two veg rock Ocean Colour Scene it would be a dark day. That song in particular is an abomination, I still blame Weller for their continued existence.

But there are many varieties of potatoes, they are extremely versatile and are often delicious.
