Good that Gardner seemed to step up............ I think he offers more as an attacking threat than Westwood.

How dare you. You take that back. What game have you been watching?

I want a B6 t-shirt.

Last year ( or was it the year before) away at Spurs the catering staff were all wearing the 81 retro Villa shirts. Didn't make the beer any better.

Talking of which, we got the train back from Reading to Paddington on Tuesday night and I bought 2 cans of standard cooking lager at the buffet carriage for £7.

I've been to Reading away a couple of times in the past (4-2 FA Cup win) and 2-1 win in the league.

It was a really good away day both times - decent admission prices, good stadium, friendly fans, etc. Sounds like they have kicked on since then so it will be an away day we look forward to next season if we are both still in the same league.

The Mrs was watching some mind-numbing horseshit on the telly, so I sloped off to play FIFA for a bit. There were ten mins of the match left, so I opened Fotmob on my phone and left it showing our score, as I was utterly convinced we'd spunk one into our own net or otherwise conspire to let them win.

I'll never forget that moment when I looked at my phone to see we'd only gone and managed to score a last minute goal and win.

The Mrs walked into the room and looked at my pale, shocked face. "They haven't, have they?" she asked of me.

It was a moment which will linger long in my memory.

I was at work still when "it" happened. The reason I figured out that "it" happened is that this place had permanently crashed and I therefore simply assumed the mods and operators had slipped into some alcohol induced coma, each of swimming in the vomit of their own delirium.

Only the second game of the season that I missed and I was in the Cinema watching the Oasis film Supersonic.  I was chuffed obviously but part of me was gutted that I missed out - a friend of mine used my reference for tickets so was there in spirit.

I cracked open another can in the cinema.  Can't wait for Saturday and the Derby next week now.

I somehow ended up following the game on Gillette Soccer Special and was sitting with my I pad,  somewhat alarmed not to be able to get H&V.

For the last 20 minutes or so, I started chanting 'Come on Villa Come on Villa' under my breath really willing it to happen.

When we scored I leapt up and let out a silent cheer and did a little jubilant dance in the middle of the living room. Then I paced up and down with my arms outstretched miming 'Come on ref! How long????''

Only when the final whistle went did I allow myself to shouted YESSS!

I'don't forgotten what it felt like for me to let it matter! It was great for it to matter.

I had the commentary on and Sky Sports which handily showed the goals as they went in from around the championship. Being without H&V was a testing time. I'm glad we all came through it.

I follow Kevin Gage on facebook and he's said that Alan Cork was at the game working as a scout and he said that the Villa fans were unbelievable.

I was staying near Maidstone in my hotel room watching the Leicester game on my Lap top all the while thinking, "shall I check how we're doing"?  I don't know why at my age but just the very fact I'm trying to find how we're getting on sends my heart into rapid beat mode. To see we are 1 - 0 up came as a mighty surprise.  Then there's the dilemma, how and when do I check again in the 2nd half?  I didn't want to Jinx it so decided to wait till the Leicester game had finished and looked on the BBC fixtures to see how we were fairing knowing there would be 10 or so minutes left, 1-1..."wankers! you had to go and let one in didn't you"...10 more minutes under the cosh with our goal being continually bombarded was my vision. Eventually I summoned up the spirit to accept disappointment so clicked on BBC football results, "what,  what is this, we've won?"  Now I craved in detail info' so tried to access H&V to be greeted by lots of odd "you can't" type messages.  Still went to bed very happy.

I wish someone would have told me before I deleted my profile.
