Cheers PWS - I was actually on tv on motd that night in the Holte - but the caption with the match details hides me on this - perhaps that's just as well !

And yes what a kit, a personal favourite. Great to see Birchy playing too.

I remember that game well, stood on the Holte End and couldn't imagine that it would be the only time I would ever see us beat Man U.
I still have a video of the game as I taped MOTD that night.

I was there but haven't watched the clip yet. I remember Six had a great debut and Withey scored a goal but I can't recall who got the other two.

Watched it from the Holte with my mates. incredible to think what massive news the Six signing was.

I too was there for Didier Six's debut which was sparkling, setting up Withe's goal and generally excellent.
He never replicated that performance.

Makes me weep to be reminded of how good we were then.
Superb performances from Ormsby, Evans, Cowans and McMahon, but just how good was Peter Withe?
It's often forgotten what a brilliant target man he was, bringing everyone into play, and in this match it was perfectly illustrated.

I thought, with the signings of McMahon and Rideout we'd be able to continue at or near the top. After this game I buggered off to the States and it had all fallen apart by the time we came back.

As an aside, what an initial pass from Gibson for the first - a lovely through ball with check that enabled Six to reach it, great cross...then foregone conclusion!
