I wasn't overjoyed when RdM was appointed but I did think that Clarke was going to be an asset.

I was half right I suppose.

I honestly don't see what Clarke offers on match day apart from setting markers out pre warm up. RDM and Kevin Bond do all the "instruction" while Clarke just sits motionless. I can only go with what I see at Villa Park though, but I'm guessing its the same away from home

I've mentioned before but I get the idea all is not right between RDM and Clarke. Clarke has far more experience than RDM but as you say, appears to be completely ignored on matchday.

And I have a feeling he could be the one to drag us out of this you know

Same here. What we do know is that RDM is bloody clueless.

You buy that many players in one summer and you assume they're being signed to fit a specific system and style but it's beginning to look like RDM just scattergunned and hoped for the best.
It's like when my she-who-must-be-obeyed sends me to the shops with a specific list of items and I return with some double-chocolate Magnums, two bottles of wine and a large bag of crisps but not the bog Roll or the milk.

Brilliant!!!

What's the magic number of points to be safe from relegation at the end of the season in this division?

Pretty close to 1 point per game, so we're really starting to sail close to the wind in that respect.

Considering how shit Preston are, this is one of the most inept performances of recent years, which is some fucking 'achievement'.

What this abject surrender needed was some Bacuna smirks, a player arguing with a supporter or a comedy own goal or gaffe, it's not a real Villa abject surrender without any of those.

In all seriousness though, taking in to account how shit a standard of football this division is this is well up there with the worst performances put in during the last 6 seasons. Completely outplayed by a terrible team near the bottom of the championship after spending the most money ever seen in this stinking shit hole of a division. Fantastic.

Mid-40's is usually enough, although Blues only stayed up on goal difference with 44 points a couple of years back. Peterborough and Wolves went down the season before with 54 and 51 points.

Preston have conceded 15 fouls and had two yellow cards, Villa 7 fouls 4 yellows, are Villa fouls worse than other teams?

15 points off 1st
12 points off 2nd
10 points off the play offs

after 11 games, you couldnt make it up

still at least we will be in the champions league in 5 seasons
