Barnsley are shit defensively. They also break quickly from midfield and have some very confident attacking players. I would play four at the back and bring Cissokho back in for solidity.

Jedinak could be very important in breaking up play and we desperately need the legs of Tish to both counter quick breaks and to get us on the front foot.

Whisper it quietly but Westwood might be useful in the midfield 3 (do you hear me Bobby, 3 in midfield) in this one as well.

They will have a go and leave lots of space. If he can quickly move it ten yards to the wing we could have a field day on the break. That's why Gestede cannot start. Adomah and Ayew flitting between midfield and attack with Kodjia up top.

We should absolutely fuck them on the break if we set up like that.

I thought Cissokho was a bit unlucky to get the drop, he's been pretty solid so far this season.

The momentum from the late goal against the barcodes should not be underestimated.

Our season starts here: 0-3 to the Mighty Villa!!!

Let's have it!!!!

bang on 1-1 draw, lousy refereeing decisions costs us the extra points with Villa down to 10 men for second half and they get a last minute equaliser just after we hit their post.

Sort of sums up our season to date really.

I just think we start tomorrow night. We'll get the breaks and get the long awaited win. Can't explain why but just have a feeling. Really looking forward to this game.

Or is it the alcohol?

Oh feck 3-1 Villa. Ayew, Kodjia, Adomah.

Think we'll beat T'Barnsley. It has to click sooner or later. Someone is going to get twatted by our front line.

I thought he was injured, I didn't realise he'd been dropped. You're right about him this season though, he's been one of the better players so far.

Just called Barnsley ticket office direct

Villa fans can buy on the night @ £32.50 cash only

The stand holds 6000 and we have sold 3500 so far so a good few left  ;)

Who the hell was saying we'd sold 5.5k for this game a few weeks ago on the tickets and travel site?!

That was a photshop thing on Twitter I believe. Somebody had basically copied the sold out from the travel and shopped it into the icon above.

I was told when I got a couple of extras about 2 or 3 weeks ago that there were 500 left! Must have meant of the first batch

Yeah that's probably where I got that idea from.

I'm not criticising anyone btw...4k is still a great turnout for a Tuesday night and end will still look packed as would imagine Barsnley will section off the first few rows.

Yeah, would go with (assuming McCormack is not fit):

                           Gollini

Bacuna       Elphick       Chester    Cissokho

                         Jedinak

             Tshibola          Westwood

Adomah              Kodjia                Ayew

Bench - Bunn, Baker, Richards, Amavi, Gardner, Grealish, Gestede

Westwood starts simply because the only other real option is Gardner.

I can just imagine the chaos at the turnstiles trying to deal with that load of change.

Saw Barnsley a fair bit last season as they ruthlessly demolished any chance Walsall had of joining everyone else in the championship over two legs in the play offs.

They've carried the momentum they've had for pretty much a year now (this time last year they were actually bottom of league one) and just try to outscore teams.

Their team last year had quite a few loanees who went back like Lloyld Isgrove and Ashley Fletcher. They also sold their best defender to Swansea, Alfie Mawson.

That said they still have some talented players we need to watch otherwise it will be yet more dropped points....Connor Hourihane is a very good attacking midfielder, won't be long before he's in the Ireland squad imo and upfront they've got Sam Winnall (from Willenhall) who scored 20 last season and has already scored a few this season. Keeping Tom Bradshaw on the bench.

Where I reckon this game will play into our hands is I reckon Barnsley will attack us from the off as that's what they know. So an early goal for us on the break and  I reckon it will be a good night for us for once.,
