I was more angry about the price.  He was the complete centre forward by then and we should have at least got the £15m that Newcastle paid for Shearer a few years earlier.

Me too. probably the last time I was genuinely gutted at a player leaving. Although after his "display" at Everton, that was replaced by much anger!

I wonder how much the statement was down to his mental state and how much was being raised by Katie Price?
