Just read in the paper that Kodj is out tomorrow because he’s fractured his cheekbone after clashing heads with Marvellous in training

Kodjia out for 2/3 weeks after surgery to his cheekbone. Always the risk of no striker cover.

Our decision not to sign an extra striker is rapidly turning into this season's "it's okay we can just play Jedinak at centre half" logic.

I doubt we decided not to buy another striker, more like they didn’t manage to get a deal over the line I would think

We weren't willing to pay over the odds for a forward as we were judged to have done for our defence. Hopefully Wesley scores enough goals to propel us up the table but it seems an unnecessary risk, having spent about £150 million, not to spend another £10-£20 million to ensure we have strength in depth at such a vital position.

DS wanted Maupay but given the money spent was reluctant to spend their asking price of £25M on him..... not sure what he went for in the end

Didn't he go for £16m? Seems pretty reasonable. Then again they may have charged us a Villa-tax for taking their coaches and two other players in recent times.

Apparently a Qatari side are rumoured to have offered £7m for him and hoping to get a deal done...

Would be a pretty decent deal since I believe his contract runs out in 9 months.

Leaving us with just Wesley and Keenan...yeah, great deal

Our current striker options must be comfortably the worst in the league.

Think it’s fair to assume that we would bring another striker in should we sell him.

Talk is of selling him next week isn't it so would be reduced to just free transfers without a club which in October isn't a great sign.
